I also don’t understand this yet, will it be allowed or not?
just add the logos on the cars back please
What about Addon Cars? So vanilla vehicles that have been customized. For example for the Fire Department or Police Department. Can you still use them?
For some the question may seem stupid, but I’ll be honest: I don’t really understand what you’re allowed to do and what you’re not allowed to do.
And we’re just thinking about how to come up with alternatives.
Basically you are not allowed to use any real world brands or IPs other than GTA Vs.
Lore friendly vehicles are totally fine (as are other lore friendly products, e.g. clothing).
The same goes for most logos. E.g. LSPD stuff is totally fine but LAPD stuff could proof problems. (though this is mostly a problem with depicting real world militias and other similar things)
Edit: Fixed an oopsie
Okay, it’s totally clear that real life brands are forbidden in any way (clothing, cars, items,…)
But I saw that sexual graphic content is forbidden, too. In GTA. There are plenty vanilla ads and stuff that’s sexually graphic.
What’s with stuff like sex scripts you can use? Don’'t judge me, please. But there are also a lot of emotes that goes into a sexy way. Any idea, how to deal with that?
So basically since Rockstar is now in with fivem, they wanna make it to where we can’t have our own fun like, c’mon fivem was made for people to roleplay and have there own life and have fun. Its a bit unfair that creators that have spent months if not years making mods and servers with custom vehicles and such only to have Rockstar come in (just from reading this, do correct me if I’m wrong) say "oh well you have to remove the irl names or not have it at all. Isn’t that what fivem was made for, that’s why I joined was to have fun roleplaying and being able to drive a dodge demon at 180mph (I know it may sound harsh but it sorta sounds like since Rockstar saw how popular fivem was, they think they can come in and now ruin it for a lot of people)
Exactly the other way around
This isn’t sudden. It has always been against Rockstar’s TOS to mod unlicensed real-world brands into their game. They own the game, not Cfx. While Cfx enabled this to be done in an online environment, it was never allowed. Cfx is just now coming into line with Rockstar’s TOS. This was always a risk, it was back 4 years when I first was running stuff on Cfx platforms. There is a reason the huge communities removed branded content years ago. There is also the issue that 2 copyrights are being broken in the majority of cases. 1 being the brand that owns the car and the other being the copyright of the model, which is overwhelmingly ripped from Forza, Assetto Corsa or Project Cars and imported to GTA5.
While I agree it sucks to lose custom cars, and branded clothing - this isn’t sudden, out-of-the-blue change. We knew this was coming and ever since the acquisition it has been a matter of time before enforcement begins.
I agree that this could need some clarification.
Even the base game comes with animations and props that are suggestive and sexual in nature. And I would assume that these are still legal.
There is just an inherent difference between “just showing a dildo in the corner of a room” and “shoving it up a hole”…
I assume the latter would be the one that’s forbidden obviously.
Well I’ve only been on fivem for a bit but it kinda just seemed like a punch in the gut for creators that done up those cars and such so what about the emergency system that the agencies use (kinda forgot the name) isn’t that an off brand that just helps with emergency services in game?
So we cant use a Nike Shirt ? i mean i dont sell it so i dont earn money so it must be legal ? And whats with the Vanilla Cars now this cars ge sold by owners ?
no because it has nike branding you are not allowed to use it
you want to put an end to children’s roleplaying, as many people take roleplaying seriously, without doing any act that harms a child’s image, now banning this roleplay borders on the incompetence of rockstars as always!
That depends. Do you have official, written permission use word/logo “Nike” anywhere in your server and community?
No? Well, that’s also your answer.
2.1. Covered Games
- To use the Creator Services, you must hold valid entitlement to, or purchase a valid retail copy of, one of the Company’s games that are authorized for use with the Creator Services (a “Covered Game”). You may be required to create a User Account and to update the Covered Games to access the Creator Services, which may automatically be downloaded onto your device (“Update”). The Company is not required to provide you with a copy of a Covered Game or to document changes in any Update.
Since we all would love to see Liberty City in FiveM, could you ask about possibility of verifying ownership of GTAIV (similar way GTAV license is verified), so these players could join GTAIV asset based FiveM servers? There’s literally nothing else that needs to be done. I mean, these ripped assets (although in questionable quality) for GTAV engine are already out there, so R* really doesn’t have to do anything on technical side and getting GTAIV under “covered games” should be a win for both sides, imo.
Make FiveM server owners to use a parameter triggering GTAIV verification for all joining players and that’s all there’s to it, from this perspective. Those servers not using this parameter and still advertising Liberty City will be considered illegal.
Regarding LIBERTY CITY, there seems to be an ongoing multiplayer (MP) project in development. I’m not sure if the project is still actively maintained, as it’s been a while, but it could be a good thing to have two different multiplayer options offering alternative modes.

I’m aware. But it seems so out of reach I don’t even bother waiting for it.
Plus, my opinion is that it would be much easier to just allow usage of GTA IV assets in GTA V engine and that will sort out a lot of problems with one solution. Instead of building entirely new environment for a different game such as FiveM/RedM.
The same way I’d see handling assets from older GTA games. Maybe some will disagree and that’s fine. It’s just the way I see it.
This is first time I hear about such role play. Sure, the way you put it sounds good to me.
On the other hand, I’ve met quite a few individuals that wouldn’t hesitate to join serve just to execute virtual children for likes, subs and the “drama”.
And that’s most likely the reason why not R* or T2 don’t want to have anything to do with things like this potentially happening under their official supervision. And it’s hard to blame them.
Their game, their (legal) worries and their decision. No hard feelings.
I would like to know that, too.
