This seems related to hmpalert.dll - which is somehow injected into the RedM process for you by some software - breaking a Windows API.

Interesting, I read the breakdown you did in the attached post. I’m wondering what might resolve this issue, more specifically is it a C++ redist .DLL missing or is it simply the sequencing of the DLL’s being loaded by the launcher?

Appreciate the detailed initial response. I’ll be continuing to find a resolution to this while I wait.

That DLL seems to be part of some security software, if you can disable it acting on the game process that’d be the easiest solution.

As is turns out you’re correct in your evaluation. It appears that Sophos Home software decides to silently block the DLLs, so even though there’s no report or log that they are being blocked or restricted.

Solution:
Inside the dashboard for Sophos under PROTECTION > General. Add the RedM or FiveM root directory as an exception.

TLDR; Sophos is sneaky and doesn’t tell you what it’s doing some times.

If you right click on the RedM launcher and select Open File Location you will find “Application Data” next the the RedM launcher. Open that and copy the directory. It will look like “C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\Local\RedM\RedM.app” or something to this affect.
