Port forward not working :(

Hello, today i just made my FXServer i tried to port forward it worked fine for me but when my friends tried to connect it said server not found even when i use http://canyouseeme.org/ it says closed there but i have port forwarded

did you also allow these ports in your windows firewall? If not, do it or disable the firewall once.

im using a external pc thats running ubuntu server 16.04 as my server and the firewall is disabled there

and that ubuntu server does not have any firewalls like ufw or iptables installed? Check /etc/init.d/ufw status or iptables -L -n. If not: Make sure 192.168.1.144 is the correct internal IP of your server.

Your friends hopefully did not try to connect to 192.168.1.144? That won’t work ^^
They need your external IP. Go to https://who.is/ to get that IP. Your friends should try to connect with this one. Disable ipv6 on your router if possible.

they tried to connect to my public ip 90.190.*. (dont wanna show my ip sorry) and no my server does not have any firewall installed

are you able to connect with your public IP to your server?

yes only me but not my friends ;( even if i use canyouseeme.org it says that the port 30120 is closed on the ip

Mhm then you need to continue try to fix it in your router. Make sure you put in the correct internal ip of your Server in it. Maybe it changed. Check with ifconfig on ur server.

yep did check that the servers ip is in deed 192.168.1.144 and i also checked that my ISP Provider allows port forwarding and they do in deed

Do you have a modem in front of your router? If so… you might need to forward the modem aswell.

i do not have a modem as i only have a router and its a Inteno DG301A idk if its a router only or a router/modem in one

It works! but now i get a error Failed to handshake to server (ip) HTTP 404
wth it didnt before

it did not work :frowning: unfortunetly but also now when i try to connect from inside the router then it says the same error what does it even mean?! Welp just broke my server

restart the fivem server and check the console output if u find some errors.
