OneSync - Vehicles that players are in are showing invisible

Before continuing, please make sure that your issue/crash has not been filed before on this forum. If it has, please provide additional information in the existing forum topic by filling out the template there.

To provide valuable feedback for OneSync issues or crashes, please fill out the following template as much as possible.

System specifications: Intel I7-8700k - RTX 2070 OC - 1TB M.2 - 16GB DDR4 3200MHz

Server

Operating system: Ubuntu Linux Server 20.04 ā€œFocal Fossaā€
Artifact version: Latest Version (FXServer-master v1.0.0.2967 linux)
IP address: Search ā€œNoURPā€ in server listing. We will not provide the IP address for security reasons.
Resources: 137 total (majority are maps.)
System specifications: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X - 32GB DDR4 ECC 2666MHz - 2x SSD NVMe 500GB Enterprise Class Soft RAID, 1 GB Up/Down Network.

Incident

Summary: When players are in the same session, intermittently, if they are inside a vehicle there is a chance that the vehicle will be invisible. The player will remain visible to players, but there vehicle will NOT. Additionally, if that player that was in the vehicle that was invisible and ā€œyouā€ as the person seeing this attempt to spawn in vehicle, the player that was originally inside the invisible vehicle will NOT be able to see YOUR vehicle. In order to correct this, both players need to leave the session and join back. The issue seems to be that the vehicle is not networked to the players correctly.
Expected behavior: All players should be able to see EVERYONE if they are inside a vehicle.
Actual behavior: You will see players floating in mid air while they are inside a car. You will see them in a sit anim and they glitch to stand and sit over and over again.
Steps to reproduce: Connect to a OneSync Server that is using the same Artifact that we are (latest) and have players spawn in a vehicle and the issue may occur. Keep in mind this seems to be intermittent so it may take several tries.

Any additional info: In the Gyazo above, that player that you see glitching is inside a car. That player is shown like that until he relogs.

Additionally, this could be related to another OneSync issue, where certain AI/NPC spawned vehicles either A: Have no one spawned in them, basically, itā€™s a world spawned vehicle, but no NPC driving it, so it just remains in the road; or B: The NPC is doing the vehicle sit animation, floating in the air, with no vehicle around them, so you can just drive into their body, whilst theyā€™re floating.

Perhaps it is related to handling vehicles with peds, or simply networking this data, Iā€™m not sure.

All of these issues started occurring when we upgraded to the latest server artifact version for Linux.

Thanks.

These repro steps seem very incomplete. Please, try finding better ones. ā€œSometimesā€, ā€œa serverā€, just so many weasel words.

Obviously, hence why the key in this is ā€œIntermittent.ā€ To further explain and show this issue, we have provided you with a video to show the issue. If you would like to repro this issue, as requested above, connect to any FiveM Server that is using the ā€œsameā€ configuration as we are.

If this were to reproduce that easily, this issue would never even have shipped in any build at all.

Since it seemingly doesnā€™t reproduce (joining a local server with 2 players only, since it is the only way to consistently reproduce as well as the only way that I can control the server side) that easily, Iā€™m requesting more information.

Please provide worksteps (information) that you would like to further look into this issue. We are willing to work with you and the FiveM team to resolve this issue.

Examples of what you would like are helpful as well.

ā€¦ simple one: does it happen on a server with 2-3 players only, e.g. by creating a large amount of vehicles using for instance vMenu?

No, we do not use vMenu. This happens for all vehicles whether they are world generated or owned by a player. Also, no this happens when there are any amount of players on the server. To give you a player count average, 5 - 25 people at a time.

Iā€™m not asking if you do use it, Iā€™m asking if you can reproduce it using it so itā€™s easier to fix than your steps of ā€˜just join a server and see :man_shrugging:ā€™ .

We donā€™t need to use vMenu, as we have our own way of spawning in vehicles using our own menu. Sorry, the wording of your question seemed as if you asked if we were using vMenu, not if we could use it.

Additionally, how does that prove anything? As stated above, this is happening to world generated traffic as well, not just player spawned vehicles.

If you would like for us to spawn in a mass amount of vehicles, we can, but this would require a mass amount of players as itā€™s mainly happening with players inside the vehicle.

Whatever, you clearly do not seem interested in this being reproducible or fixed. If anyone else has similar issues with reproduction steps that they do want to share without being a smartass, they can post a new topic.

However, please donā€™t be like this guy, who when asked for detailed steps just avoids the entire question and somehow thinks he has to ā€œproveā€ things.
