Introducing Alchemist for FiveM

Today we’re excited to launch the first in a series of updates on upcoming GTAV Enhanced support within FiveM, beginning with an introduction to a new tool we’ve been working on: Alchemist.

Alchemist

Alchemist is a tool for players, server owners and asset creators who want to convert assets originally made for GTAV Legacy to be compatible with FiveM for GTAV Enhanced. Alchemist also allows you to refine existing Legacy assets to correct potential formatting or compatibility issues from earlier tools.

Asset Conversion

The Asset Conversion feature will allow you to automatically convert a given folder and all its contents with ease, making all your existing Legacy 3D assets compatible with FiveM for GTAV Enhanced.

When selecting a folder, Alchemist will automatically identify all GTAV Legacy assets inside subfolders and convert them to the GTAV Enhanced format inside the selected target directory. It will also copy any surrounding files, like your scripts, interfaces, and configuration files, but will not alter them.

Selecting your Cfx.re Platform Server resources directory as an input folder will generate a drop-in replacement resources folder, which will be compatible with FiveM for GTAV Enhanced.

Refining Your Assets

Over the past decade, many members of the Rockstar Games community have built an incredible range of modding tools for GTAV and FiveM, helping bring countless creative projects to life.

As these tools have continued to evolve, some earlier asset conversions may benefit from updates to ensure full compatibility with FiveM and GTAV Legacy. To support this, Alchemist introduces a Refinement feature that allows asset creators to update and correct Legacy assets for proper formatting and compatibility with the formats GTAV Legacy expects.

Asset conversion will automatically correct your Legacy assets while converting them to Enhanced.

Download and Documentation

You can download Alchemist directly on the Cfx Portal: https://portal.cfx.re/downloads

A dedicated page has been created on our documentation website to provide further information and guidance on how to use Alchemist.

If you wish to report bugs or share feedback and suggestions, we have created a new #alchemist-feedback channel on our Discord server: discord.gg/fivem

Stay tuned over the coming months as we share more about FiveM for GTAV Enhanced.

am i the only one who thinks that this is irrelevant since fivem is on gta v legacy still? Whats the point of having this? Does anyone know?

get users to change their assets for enchanced then drop enhanced at somepoint

So that server owners and scripters can have their resources ready to go as soon as enhanced drops? Seems pretty straight forward and standard to have tooling for a feature before the feature is released

It allows creators to test their assets in Singleplayer GTA V Enhanced I guess. Which was already possible with CodeWalker but presumably Portal will use the same refinements+conversion technique for Escrow, so it’s nice to test out this tool.

But yes, I doubt it will see much use before FiveM Enhanced support comes out

We’re almost there. ^^

hello, whats the difference between gta legacy and enhanced? and what has it do to with fivem

More stable, better optimized, etc.

Mostly better graphics, raytracing, global illumination, etc. Enhanced also smaller in terms of space and runs at more FPS on modern hardware. FiveM still doesn’t support Enhanced but it looks like it will soon :tm:

Here’s a comparison of the graphics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge5YlfnIY9o

It’s nice, but please fix the existing bugs.
