Exactly the same is happening to me, still without apparent fix. I tried:

  • Reinstalling from 0 GTAV
  • Reinstalling from 0 FiveM (Several times)
  • Disabling windows firewall and antivirus
  • Opened GTAV and played for a few minutes just fine

(From 0 I mean deleting all typical cache folders and even others I could find)

After some log digging the only problem I could find is an apparent error message on the logfile:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\FiveM\FiveM.app
cef.log (8.2 KB)

I don’t know if that crash is the one that makes us stuck on that gray screen, but it’s the only one that I can see. Seems like that JS file it’s downloading (Uploaded by rockstar 2 days ago apparently from the url) it’s missing an import or something that makes the javascript fail.

I also found this threads with apparently the same problem but from old times without answer or fix:

hmm ok, thank you for your answer i think i will just hope that somebody answer’s who know’s what to do

uhm, so i deinstalled java and reinstalled it then i reinstalled fivem, at this point it didn’t even started so i restarted my computer and now its working

I don’t have java installed :sob: :sob: :sob:

Tried again to reinstall FiveM, restarted, still not working

then perhaps install java? it needed for a good portion of things.

same issue nothing is working i have uninstalled and re installed multiple times

Tried as you asked. Did this:
I uninstalled fiveM first, installed java, rebooted computer, Installed FiveM, rebooted computer, launch FiveM

Still not working :sob:

i also logged out rockstar before this then logged in played online and then i made this all

Just a final follow up. As I thought, doing nothing fixed it for me. I’m 99% sure it was that javascript I mentioned that maked it crash silently. Either fiveM now uses an older js or rockstar uploaded a fix.

Have a nice week
