[VORP] Crowe Checkers

Crowe Checkers brings physical American/English checkers to RedM/VORP servers with synchronized player-versus-player matches and configurable NPC opponents for solo play. Each table uses 12 white and 12 black physical pieces, dedicated king stacks, a fixed overhead camera, and direct mouse interaction across the 32 playable squares. Mandatory captures, forced multi-jumps, automatic crowning, short kings, draw rules, configurable access, locations, themes, blips, and nearby spectators create a complete in-world checkers experience without replacing the board with an interface.

Key Features

  • Physical Checkers Board: Each match starts with 12 white and 12 black checker-disc props on an 8x8 board.

  • Physical King Pieces: Crowned pieces use matching two-disc stack props so kings are easy to identify.

  • Direct Board Controls: Players select a checker and click highlighted destinations directly on the physical board.

  • Playable-Square Projection: Mouse interaction is limited to the board’s 32 playable dark squares.

  • American/English Rules: Men move and capture forward, short kings move and capture in both diagonal directions, and Black moves first.

  • Mandatory Captures: Non-capturing moves are blocked whenever the active player has a legal capture.

  • Forced Multi-Jumps: The same checker remains selected until every available jump in the chosen capture route is complete.

  • Automatic Crowning: A man reaching the opposite home row becomes a king automatically and ends its turn.

  • Complete Match Outcomes: A player loses when they have no pieces or no legal move, with repetition and no-progress draws handled automatically.

  • Player-versus-Player Matches: Two players can take the White and Black chairs for a synchronized untimed match.

  • Solo NPC Opponents: A seated player can add a configured easy, standard, or hard NPC to the empty chair.

  • Three Included Opponent Profiles: Ships with Beau, Silas, and Emmett using configurable names, models, outfits, ratings, and difficulty levels.

  • Server-Controlled Matches: Seats, turns, legal moves, captures, results, draw offers, rematches, and NPC decisions are checked by the server.

  • Synchronized Presentation: Accepted moves, captures, crowns, NPC peds, and final positions stay synchronized for players and nearby spectators.

  • Draw, Resign, and Rematch Controls: Players can offer or answer draws, resign, leave, and confirm another match from the table controls.

  • Color-Swapping Rematches: Logical colors swap for the next game while both players remain in their physical chairs.

  • Compact In-World Interface: Match information and controls stay around the physical board instead of covering it.

  • Push-to-Talk Support: Players can continue using voice chat while the checkers interface owns mouse focus.

  • Configurable Access: Tables can be open to everyone or limited to selected VORP character groups.

  • Configurable Tables, Themes, and Blips: Add tables to new locations and customize their presentation, streaming ranges, themes, and map blips.

  • 10 Locale Codes: Includes full English copy plus checkers terminology for nine additional locale codes with safe English fallback.

  • Optional Crowe Integrations: Supports crowe_notification, crowe_interactions, and crowe_metabolism when those resources are present.

  • No Database Setup: Active matches stay in server memory and require no SQL import.

  • Complete Cleanup: Stream-out, character changes, disconnects, and resource stops remove temporary pieces, tables, chairs, cameras, and NPCs.
