The Holden VL Commodore Group-A ‘Walkinshaw’, is probably the most legendary sedan ever made by Holden Special Vehicles, and was the brain child of racing legend and HSV operator; Tom Walkinshaw. Based off the SS model, this HSV variant served as the homologation model for use in the Touring Car Championship. The TC Group A rules dictated that only 500 needed to be built, but the ‘Walky’ proved to be popular, and an extra 250 were built. Each model receiving its own individually numbered build plates. They are powered by a Holden injected 5 litre V8, with some extra modifications, including dual throttle bodies, but the thing that makes it stand out the most from all the other Commodores, is the insane aero kit. It looks like the kit is just for appearances, but it actually increases downforce, while reducing drag by 25%. There arent many of the original 750 left, but this car is a Top-5 for Holden fans, so there are plenty of replicas around. The genuine articles sell for anywhere between 150k to 400k. Thats Supercar money. Lambo? Porsche? McLaren?.. No thanks mate, I’ll take a Walky.

Fair comment mate.
Comparing the two models side by side, they somewhat are similar, but also very different.
They are both conversions. Mine is done from start to finish by myself, so there will be some differences in components and bone placements. Also, mine is RHD, and closer in accuracy to a real Walky for colours and textures. ConsKrypt had done a little more in detail with the interior cloth textures and such, but its incomplete (last udpated 2017), theres still alot more there on his to be done. The meta files in mine are also more complex, and the handling has been done from scratch to better reflect the RTS in the Holdens of that era. I have also added other stuff in to mine, that isnt in ConsKrypts version. Not saying his is inferior, but we are comparing apples with oranges.
As for the price…
Mine isnt 100 percent complete either. It still needs a few texture tweaks and additions, but given that its only $8, the buyer is getting a pretty good deal for what it is. Its also my own policy that i keep it cheap. Im not doing this to make my time back. Theres countless hours in the Walky (also in the Torana I released, and in the Sandman coming soon), but im offering it at that price, partly because im doing this for the technical exercise, and partly because I cant personally justify putting a price point on my models that only large servers can afford. I want them to be affordable for everyone.
