So server I converted “Vice Cry:Remastered” into my FiveM Server, and for hours on end I been trying to find a fix for this “Texture Bug”. It happens on mainly roads and SOME buildings. I have tried many things such as, Splitting all files over 16 MB so none are over streaming limit, which didn’t change anything, I have tried converting roads from another “Vice City” mod and it actually helped a little, But now there is still a texture bug alike this one but it just doesnt look as bad.
I don’t normally post on the forums, but I see no one has responded to you yet. I recently converted the same map to a resource on my server as well. Vice Cry Remastered has a lot of high res textures. This is what I did to fix the issue. First extract all textures from larger .ytd files over 16mb. Than bulk reduced there size by 50%, and just import them back into the .ytd Done! Hope this helps
SO, I have tried this in the past and haven’t touched since but you could be trying to say something different, Are you saying to put all the textures into one or just reduce each of them and put it back?
Yes, reduce the resolution by half for each texture. You extract them all from any .ytd, and just cut the resolution in half for the larger res textures. Then just import them back into the file overwriting the originals. I used a website called BIRM for bulk image resizing makes things go faster. For example make a folder for extracting the textures too, change list to details, add resolutions tab, and arrange the list by resolution. Take all the high res textures, and reduce them by half. So…a 1024x1024 would be reduced to 512x512 or 1024x512 reduced to 512x256. Ideally for fivem it would be more performance friendly to have the map textures 512 or lower.
Yes, well I don’t typically share, but I am currently working on a server. Its going to be Vice City Themed, with San Andrea’s removed. I just don’t feel the map is optimized enough to consider releasing it to the public yet. I may release it eventually though, I actually kinda figured someone would have by now. I’ve been working on adding more interiors, along with a friend who likes too add the props for me.
I apologize but the project has sadly been cancelled as I am now working on a server that will be pvp and am going full time on it as we are trying to make it it’s own game.
Okay, well…that was my issue initially. It’s why did not want to release my map to the public. Although, I’m not the type to take credit for someone else’s work, and I had simply made it work with FiveM. Seems there are a lot of re-releases on this forum, but how does one get around that? Would I need to contact the original mod author for permission? If it’s going to be an issue, I won’t bother with it.
