Good morning, since always I have a very strange problem. The game starts very well and at the beginning it is fluent (60 fps stable and normal gpu+cpu usage). After some time (10/20 min), especially when I’m driving fast, the game starts lagging very much (heavy fps drop). The strange thing is that when I press windows key I go to desktop and I immediately come back to the game, the lag disappear. The problem is that after few time I have to repeat this procedure and it is very annoying.

I know that my pc is not the best, but I think it can handle the game, the temp are low, so no termal throttling. The graphic settings are 1080 low, but I tried also 720 low. I tried fullscreen and window mode. I tried enable/disable Vsync in game and in Nvidia panel. I tried to set priority in task manager (even if I found different version of settings in the web). My connection is decent I think: 50Mb/s, ping 30 in game. I’m not an expert but I tried some developer tools: resources timing that was very low also during lag and the only possible problem I think that can be the package loss: at the beginning is 0% and when the lag starts it become 2% or 3%. But I don’t think that it is a connection problem or hardware problem because when the lag starts it lasts for some minutes then it disappears, but if i press windows key I go to desktop and then come back to the game everything is ok after few seconds. I’m available to provide some more other clues if you need, for example a video of the problem. I think it’s very strange that it is only a problem of my computer since it seems to me that it’s a software problem. Thanks for your help and your patience.

That’s a weird one indeed
First of all, what temps are your CPU and GPU running at exactly? The general M.O. of lag after X minutes of playtime is overheating or other forms of throttling due to excessive heat and the coolers’ inability to cope with it. I suggest you undo the overclocking on your CPU and if possible, limit the FPS FiveM runs at to see if that helps.
Thanks for your help! Yes I know, but it’s not possible that it’s a temps problem since lag shouldn’t disappear (when I do that trick) immediately after some seconds. I will try again to monitor temp however I already disabled OC. I think next step is a clean install of Windows.
Oh, it sure can. In some instances a few seconds of not-rendering-something are enough to drop the temps by a dozen of degrees - of course, that’s a rather extreme case, but considering the fact that FX-8320 is quite a hot one, it’s not far from possible. By the way, you might want to clean your PC of dust and maybe change thermal compound on top of that as well, just to be sure.
Temps are ok, I have liquid cooling and new thermal compound. No OC just had this drop at 50 degrees celsius. Also in every other game I have no problem at all. (CPU 50 degrees, GPU 60 degrees).
It is so strange because in this case as soon as I go to HWtemp to see temps the lag disappears. If I stay in game the lag persists.
Also I noticed that this problem comes out when I open the map.
Update: Also tried a clean install of windows 10 but always the same problem. First time when driving fast second time when opened the map.
Single player mode seems working, while other online server same problem.
