Updating handling.meta does nothing

Hey developers of FiveM!
I have absolutely no idea how vehicles are made, and this is mostly the reason why I’m asking for help. I know how to read scripts, and all of that, but right now, that’s not why I’m writing. For some reason, whenever I edit handling.meta for a vehicle model, nothing changes. For example, I have civilian vehicles, and they go relatively faster than what vehicle packs come with. I decided that I wanted to Copy and Paste a vehicle’s handling.meta from the civilian car pack. I did that, restarted the pack, and… nothing changed. I decided to clear my cache. Nothing changed. I even resorted to skidding, from ChatGPT, then Grok, and then even Cursor. NOTHING. It’s annoying because I love playing on the server with my friends, but it’s not really fair when a stock vehicle from the Civilian Cars goes 200 MPH and the LEO vehicles go 120 MPH. I’ll provide the packs I’m using below and some server info

  1. Make sure that the handlingId name matches and is the name being used for the vehicle in its vehicles.meta entry
  2. If you’re trying to edit the values on a live server, changes require at least the resource with the vehicle you’re editing to be restarted (make sure to delete the vehicle before doing so or it’ll crash your game!) to take effect; you should also look into resources that allow you to change values live, there’s plenty “handling editors” out there

Didn’t work. I ensured that the resource was indeed using the proper handling name, restarted it too. I also restarted it after changes were applied. @_4iY

Then you have more than 1 handling.meta entry with the same name that conflict, that’s the only possible reason left

I can try renaming the entry and seeing if its that. I just went through every handling meta that is in the files and theres no entry matching it. ill lyk @_4iY

It unfortunately did not work. I can upload both the vehicles.meta and the handling.meta if that helps.
handling.meta (2.8 KB)
vehicles.meta (6.1 KB)
fxmanifest.lua (633 Bytes)

I tried using a different config with a handling editor, it works now. Thanks for the recommendation & help!
