Hey, just something you should know to avoid any potential issues with the model: BMW holds a design patent and trademark/design right on the kidney grilles used on their cars. I looked into this because I’m currently reworking the new Sentinel. That’s also the reason why Rockstar connected the grille design on some of their other cars as well.

Basically, you can create a similar grille, but the lower section needs to be connected so it’s not separated.

Hey! Although largely correct, the patent only covers stuff they’ve actually designed and used. Over the years other brands have used the “dual intake” or “kidney grille” design. As long as it’s not an exact copy it typically ok. Patenting simply as “kidney grille” would be too vague for any patent! Rockstar just merge them to make it so much easier for the design team which considering the patent.
I don’t blame them :joy: you’ll also find a lot of aftermarket parts for cars that aren’t BMW also have the dual intake design

I know that BMW is very sensitive about the kidney grilles on their cars. That’s why other games without an official license don’t use them. I also know that BMW strictly enforces its rights regarding 3D models (for example, on TurboSquid you’ll only find one BMW lookalike without the kidney grilles). I mean, you could probably do it, but it would definitely be much safer to deviate slightly from the original design. Your model looks amazing, which is actually part of the problem. It’s very close to the real thing. Combining signature design elements like angel eyes with the kidney grilles could potentially cause problems.

At least I’ve modified my Sentinel like this now, because it looked too close to the real model with the separate grilles.

That an old 760i type?

E39 M5 (Sentinel6 from the newest DLC) just a vanilla edit.

Typically we go with, if CFX Approves it, its allowed
