Well it does have one… How can this be fixed? Not using a illegal copy…

I get the exact same error, I can post a screen shot but there is no error code, its an “Authentication error” that says “The social club account specified does not own a valid license to Grand Theft Auto V.” Which is false just like the OP, I have a legit copy, its not a steam copy but one straight from Rockstar/Social Club.

Edit: This only happened after the recent updates. there was not an issue previously.

Did you try to log in with your SC username or your email address? My username gave me the same error, then i tried with my email address and it worked.

It worked for me AFTER i upgraded my Windows 10 to the Creative Update version. The update isn’t automatic just yet, you have to manually do it.

I too am having this issue, even though I own a legitimate copy of GTA 5.

I was having this issue as well. Try jumping into GTA Online and play for about half an hour or so. Seems to be what fixed the issue for me.

I had the same issue, I just opened steam in the background, logged into my account, as well as on the Social club website and kept it open in the background and it seems to work for me. It just logged in automatically through steam.

hi has anyone found out how to fix this? ppl say that it shouldn’t come up if u have it on steam, but it does sooo idk what to do. When i sign in it comes up with that message every time. please reply if u find a way to fix this.

Late reply, but in case you haven’t fixed it yet for some reason, restarting Steam and then opening FiveM again should fix that.
