The Strategic Response Unit (SRU) is a dedicated team of individuals who provides tactical support to general policing throughout the State.
Based strategically around San Andreas, the SRU maintains an around the clock capability across San Andreas with the support of the part-time, regionally-based teams.
The SRU are tasked to resolve extreme situations that regular officers are not trained to handle, including hostage-taking, and heavily armed criminals. quipped with high-tech tools and a cache of weapons and explosives, members use negotiation tactics and intuition to try to avoid the use of deadly force, which they exert only as a last resort.

A teenager is in a critical condition after a single-vehicle trail bike crash at Grapeseed on Saturday the 23rd of January 2021.
Just before 1820 hours Zulu standard (Saturday the 23rd of January 2021), emergency services were called to private property of Niland Ave, Grapeseed, following reports a trail bike had crashed.
Troopers attached to Paleto Bay Police Area Command and San Andreas Ambulance paramedics attended.
Police were told a group of teenagers were enjoying the afternoon riding motorbikes when the rider, a 16-year-old boy, crashed.
He sustained life-threatening head injuries and was taken to Pillbox Hill Medical in a critical condition.
An adult observer a 23-year-old man, was also injured and was taken to the same hospital in a stable condition.
A crime scene was established, and the Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
No further details are available at this time; however, police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone who can assist police should contact Crime Stoppers 1800 555 000 or the Police Assistance Line 131 555, or www.police.sa.gov. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded to not report crime via the San Andreas State Police social media pages.
Approximately 0640 hours Zulu standard (Wednesday the 27th of January 2021) Troopers assigned to Vespucci Police Area Command, Vespucci Water Police and the Aviation Support Branch attended Vespucci Beach to assist Surf Life Savers with a shark sighting and possible attack.
San Andreas Ambulance attended the scene. No person was found in the waters, private watercraft in the immediate area were notified.
PolAir and Water Police located the Shark and ensured it returned beyond the shark nets.

The State Crime Command (SCC)'s Organised Crimes Squad conducting enforcement duties in Los Santos Port.
The Squad works alongside federal counterparts from the Federal Police and Border Force to prevent, detect and disrupt terrorism and transnational organized crime while allowing for the legal movement of people and goods.
The Traffic and Highway Patrol Command’s Heavy Vehicle Unit, formerly known as the Joint Transport Task Force (JTTF), they are a specialist Highway Patrol Task Force who targets heavy vehicle safety and compliance. The team operate closely with San Andreas Roads and Maritime Service Heavy Vehicle Inspectors, conducting proactive operations where heavy vehicles are stopped and inspected by police and RMS at random roadside inspection points. They also operate in response to serious heavy vehicle incidents, conducting raids and blitz inspectors of bus and trucking yards of companies following serious and fatal accidents involving their heavy vehicles.

The Southwest Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad (RES) speaking to an individual after Troopers attended a scene of a suspicious male offering the distribution of illicit drugs. The male fled on foot initiating a pursuit. He was arrested a short time later.
Vespucci General Duty Police and the South West Region Enforcement Squad
Troopers from Vespucci Police Area Command attended Vespucci Beach South earlier this week in regards to a group of males acting anti-socially. During enquiries, these two males attempted to evade Troopers.
