What is the issue you’re having?
Cannot apply “Fullscreen (Exclusive)”

What did you do to get this issue?
Nothing.

What server did you get this issue on? Be specific and name some, ‘all of them’ by itself isn’t useful!
Its further than a particular server, its in the FiveM/game settings

The game is playable, launches fine, but it will not go into “Fullscreen (Exclusive)”, even if it says it is, it won’t apply and/or it won’t stay.
This is causing a problem with streaming, causing horrible framerate when in "Windowed (borderless)(I assume thats what its going to), not streaming as smooth as it should be in Fullscreen (exclusive) but I’m unable to get there, and the game won’t minimize properly because of this as well.

Here’s my video, skip to 2:10 if you need.

As you can see, I can “Apply” the settings but its not applying. It says its on Fullscreen (Exclusive) but its not. You’ll see in the vid. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

What happens if you try to launch the game with -fullscreen launch option in a shortcut?

It was no use. It appeared like it worked at first, but then I minimized the game - tried to go back and it was windowed again.

So I solved the problem… but unfortunately I lost my settings.
Went into control panel, uninstalled FiveM and turned out to be 78gb that was stored.
Redownloaded FiveM and installed it, as if it was the first time. Now it works as it should.

**Some things I did try before but didn’t work… if anyone was wondering.
I noticed that it was not only the Fullscreen or Windowed setting that wouldn’t work, but ALL the graphics settings. I wanted to increase my shadow quality and that wouldn’t apply either. I reset all to default, which required a game restart… I go and launch FiveM and all the settings were still the same before I “set” them to default. So they were “stuck” basically and I couldn’t change anything.
So I did some searching and found the settings file (located in %appdata%\CitizenFX) could be the problem. I learned now that I was missing the gta5_settings file (because now its here after reinstall FiveM)
But I did delete the fivem.cfg file before, and it did restore my settings to default, but I still could not make changes to my settings.
I may have jumped the gun, but that was when I decided to uninstall and reinstall FiveM. I now wish I had another copy of the gta5_settings file, but I didn’t know it was missing until after the fact.

So, in the end, to anyone having a problem like this… if your gta5_settings file is missing, maybe try getting another one somehow instead of reinstalling fivem… rather or not that will fix it? I don’t know.
And I also don’t know why it was missing in the first place.
But either way, problem solved (haha)

i have the same problem but i can’t resolve the problem…u can give me help?

Apologies about the late response…
Unfortunately, the problem came back for me. However I learned a trick that helps.

The game launches fullscreen at first, but once I minimize the game and go back into it, it’s windowed. I then do alt+enter and its back, and that seems to work for now. But I need to do that every time after I’ve minimized the game. A little annoying, but maybe you can try that and see if that works for you.

I haven’t found a way for it to permanently stay on fullscreen (exclusive) though, even if it says so in the settings it still goes to windowed. No idea why.

Yeah there have been a lot of issues with Fullscreen (Exclusive) recently since they have made changes to game resizing/minimizing. I really hope they fix it soon or revert to how it was before because there are a lot of people who use Fullscreen (exclusive) and are having issues.
