have you tried opting out of the steam beta?

It seems to be an issue again, about 30+ people I know are having the same issue right now. Might not be an everyone issue but definatly some.

Negative, I guess I can do this too.

Weird, it was not an issue till yesterday came by.

I will be re downloading everything on my PC soon anyway, hopefully that fixes it.

Because it’s a beta, things will change all the time (pretty much), they must’ve changed something in the API to cause this error.

I am getting the same error message. It was completely fine yesterday. I have verified my files and restarted my steam client several times. Plus I have deleted my cache as well…Anyone know a fix?

so GetPlayerIdentifier doesnt return steamid at all, it only returns the game license (0), xbl (1), live (2), discord (3) and ip (4) and the idea of it being a beta and things changing like that kinda scares me since there are many things based on steam id and there isnt really a substitute for it since everything can change based on the fact that is a beta

Open steam, click on steam in the upper left corner then press settings then account. now press the “change” button by the beta option. then select no beta and then youre done and it should work again:) worked for the people that couldnt join my server

Looks like the Opt Out fixed it…

That would be expected if the player you’re using GetPlayerIdentifier() on is opted into the Steam beta. Tell the person to opt out of the Steam beta, then, GetPlayerIdentifier() on that player will work as expected.
