What did you do to get this issue?
Im a server owner and have been running my server on a version from September with no issues at all. However everytime I update the server, everyone gets a “Steam Connection Error”. Each time this has happened ive ended up reverting the server back to the September package. Its now getting on my nerves!!

Today I have updated the server again to version 1686 hopeing that the steam issue wouldnt be present like before, however its still happening. When ever anyone tries to connect to the server including myself they get the following error:
“this server requires you to be logged into the steam client”.

We have no issues at all with our previous version however we cant keep the server on that version for ever!

What server did you get this issue on?
Dedicated sever hosted by myself.

CitizenFX.log file
not relevant
.dmp files/report IDs

If an issue with starting:

Did you try to disable/uninstall your Anti-virus?

Also add what you already tried so far.

In answer to some questions that will be asked:

  • yes we have our steam clients open in the background,
  • yes we have checked if were using the steam beta, we arnt,
  • yes we have force quit steam, then started steam first before fivem,
  • yes we have tried re installing fivem,
  • yes we have cleared our cashe.
  • yes we can join other severs,

Any advice or help to rectify this would be greatly appreciated!!

Since recent versions it requires you to set a steam api key, have you set this?
