Important parts

**What is the issue you’re having? FiveM throtles itself to 1.1-1.5mbps, every other game/app doesn’t do that. I have 70mbps connection aswell.

**What are you trying to do? Download the game with normal speeds + join the server without the need to wait 2hours for the assets to download.

**What have you tried already to fix the issue? Reset internet drivers, restarted router and PC, reinstalled FiveM, verified the intergrity of GTA V files.

**Error screenshot (if any): -

**What did you do to get this issue? Just open the installer.

**What server did you get this issue on? Be specific and name some, ‘all of them’ by itself isn’t useful! I literally get it on every single one that I join so I guess this doesn’t apply.

This is likely caused by your ISP not liking P2P connections and throttling them for some reason, try using a VPN (WARP is good for a test, but it’s quite unreliable) to see if the speed increases. If so, see if you can work something out with your ISP, or invest in a VPN to play if they aren’t willing to make changes.

Hmm,
Personaly I don’t think it’s the ISP since everything worked like a year ago and I didn’t change the provider or anything else.
I’ve tried the WARP VPN but now I cannot connect to any server.

Something may have changed on the provider’s side without your knowledge; try using another free VPN just for a test if WARP doesn’t work.

I’ve tried many VPN’s now but the only one that worked was Kaspersky VPN. So for anyone that have that issue aswell it might fix it.

Just to add for anyone reading this after, slow P2P connection (peer-to-peer is how FiveM operates in regards to your client/PC connecting to a specific server) is usually caused by your network setup, be it your actual devices’ settings or your ISP itself limiting it, outside of cases where the server doesn’t have enough network width, which is somewhat rare nowadays.

For players, routing your connecting differently - via at least a proxy or a full-on VPN - usually fixes it, if the VPN is good enough; for server owners, setting up a caching proxy will usually alleviate this issue for clients. The cause in most cases is on the client side, at least in my experience.

EDIT: I cannot in the right mind recommend using a free VPN full-time, as almost all of them sell your data in some fashion (that’s the only way they can pay for the servers, being free to use); if using a VPN is the only way you can play, invest in a good one. Good VPNs aren’t cheap, BTW, don’t fall for a low price if you need one.
