So it’s been a big thing for a while now but I’ve never noticed anybody really talk about it (hopefully for no reason), and I keep seeing these big servers with over 1500+ server boosts on the server list causing thousands of people to join their servers.
This made me quite curious and I’ve done some small investigating. Most of these big servers just have 1 server that has all the boosts, their 2nd servers and 3rd servers (which servers I’ve investigated/seen have multiple running servers) have NO boost at all.
Is there some kind of scheme or thing I am missing here? Because I don’t believe people are spending €92 ($110) (including tax) a month on 15 server boosts.
(above is the highest thing you can get on zap)
I’ve even calculated some of these server boost costs and came up with this.
I’m just gonna state I don’t think people are spending… 5060$ a month just to get a server boosted. (709 (sacrp server boosts) divided by 15 (highest server boost you can give) times 110 (usd price of 15 boosts on zap))
So using my common sense, I am assuming that there is some kind of bot system or scheme here since I personally don’t believe 5k$ is going into a server just to have it above a few other servers. Not only is SACRP having loads of boosts, but other servers like this Arab Epic RP server (over 15k$ being spent to be on top of server list) and such.
Or are people actually racking up 15k$ to put their fivem server on top of other people? Because that’s like 180k$ a year which is like somebody’s yearly wage in like the medical field or something
but other servers like this Arab Epic RP server (over 15k$ being spent to be on top of server list)
Yes, this is surprising, but all related transactions do appear legitimate.
There have been a few cases of individuals trying to cheat the system, repeatedly using stolen cards or finding other bugs in checkout logic, but these are all corrected and explicit triple checks of these top servers all check out.
Likely, their servers are actually that profitable.
I do see your point here and no I don’t think someone is just payign 180K a year to just have their server on top. Zap may allow 15 upvotes at a time but overtime a server will grow and gain more members. This allows them to expend and even use the TEBEX to gain money. So it could be entirely possible that some servers use some (If not all) if that gained money to put back into their community. But as you gain more members over-time. (usually over discord) it can grow to pretty high numbers. There is a server that I am in that holds over 14K people. This impacts alot on the server they play on off-course. So as I do not see only money going in It may also be it’s community who upvotes the server to gain more members and expend their upvotes.
If so, that is very surprising. But if it was like this; how come it’s not super popular? I mean there are hundreds of popular servers but why wouldn’t everyone be wanting to make that big income? If they are actually making thousands of dollars a month like that, I’m pretty sure everybody would want to make money like that.
its sort of like discord boosts their members can boost too so they probably give perks. if 10k people give me a dollar each its not a lot for them but for me it gets me 10k dollars. its just the server owners playing their cards right
Hello i am the owner of the sacrp server and to answer your question ’ I mean there are hundreds of popular servers but why wouldn’t everyone be wanting to make that big income? If they are actually making thousands of dollars a month like that’ because most of the revenue we generate from tebex comes from new people joining from the server boosts, if we do not keep spending money on server boosts each month then we can not replicate a steady income and keep up with the boosts we buy, sure we can take all the income for one month, but what about next month when there would be a clear decline in new/existing members, and the reason other 2nd servers are not boosted is because there is no need once people join the discord they can see more ips.
Are members of a server allowed to boost anymore for free? I thought it used to be that a regular player could boost the server they’re playing on for some boost and it counted
The zap hosting site has some problem, because here in Brazil it has a server with 9000 boost, this is the equivalent of R$ 300,000.00 (BRL) excluding taxes. You enter the server, are servers with horrible settings, then explain to me how the guy spends this amount in times of crisis and has a server badly configured? who would spend 300 thousand reais on a fucked-up server? The problem he said is that honest people are harmed, and the company that has the monopoly does not solve the problem. There are several complaints and FiveM is not caring about its users who in turn generate revenue for the company!
I have personally been approached by some questionalable discords offering me “Boosting / Bursting” packages that “Guarantees front page” for $200 USD. Its very clear there is a scam going on, either from stolen credit cards or manipulation of foreign currency, but for those who do not want to ask anything in dealing with those people (I told the guy no and blocked) then its a massive hinderance and one that needs to be addressed.
you aslo talking trash wheres your proff u buying from zap and not from a hacker smh server owners are hiding what they are doing ive seen boost on servers for 3000 upvotes for only a hour and this is noot the burst upvote just normal ones then after a hour the votes are gone zap hosting dont even offer that for the normal upvotes
Sorry to necro, but I have started a new thread here. I have been gathering information for weeks about how this process works. It’s time for CFX to put this to an end. And its ridiculously easy to fix.
Servers that appear on the front page are appearing there because they have legitimately bought upvotes.
People that approach you offering to sell upvotes/boosts are either scammers or letting people pay to “borrow” their upvotes that they’ve purchased.
If your server is even moderately monetized you can easily recoup boost costs. More players = more money. We spent 6k~ USD for a week of front page, in January 23’ and had doubled that investment within three weeks. Players that join during these boosts (if your server is decent) then continue to play / spend on your server, and a lot of them also invite their friends who also spend money.
