Revision of Discrete GPU steps

Hi folk!

It has been brought to my attention that the steps listed in [Solution] Forcing FiveM/RedM to use your discrete GPU | Infinite Loading Fix - FiveM Client Support - Cfx.re Community are pretty inaccurate in 2024. It would be great if some of you from the community would be able to come together and refactor and revise the steps, specifically for enforcing discrete GPU with a Nvidia GPU.

To be honest, reading the steps myself doesn’t even ring any bells for me. I could’ve sworn it had something to do with ‘3D settings’ in the Nvidia Control Panel, but hey, idk?

I don’t think the steps are different, open the NVIDIA Control Panel (which can be searched or opened by right-clicking the desktop and clicking "Show More Options) then go to Manage 3D Settings, and select FiveM from the drop-down list and choosing high-performance NVIDIA processor.

Edit: additionally looking at the windows 11 steps that’s also correct?

You just need to browse desktop apps and select FiveM either from file location or even the shortcut:

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yea, you’re correct that the Win11 steps are correct as I just added these last night

The Nvidia instructions don’t mention going to 3D settings, so this just needs added?

If anybody with an AMD GPU could check the relevant instructions there too, that would be great.
