Reload Blocked with L Alt (Primary Radio) While Sprinting and Talking

Hello,

I’ve been having an issue for about a week with L Alt as the Primary Radio key in FiveM. When I try to sprint, use the radio (L Alt), and reload (R) at the same time, the reload function is blocked. This problem occurs on all servers and seems to only affect players using L Alt as their radio key.

What I expected to happen:

I should be able to sprint (Shift + W), use the radio (L Alt), and reload (R) simultaneously without any issues.

What actually happens:

• When I press L Alt (Primary Radio) while sprinting (Shift + W), the reload key (R) no longer works.

• To reload, I have to either:

  1. Stop sprinting (release Shift and just press W), or

  2. Stop using the radio (release L Alt).

• If I bind the radio to a different key (e.g., Caps Lock), everything works as expected: sprinting, reloading, and using the radio all at the same time.

Additional information:

• FiveM Version: [Specify whether you use Production or Canary]

• Operating System: Windows 10/11

• I have already cleared the cache and checked key bindings, but the issue persists.

• The problem is present across all servers and does not seem related to any server-specific resources or scripts.

If this is a bug or an intentional change, I’d appreciate any feedback or a potential fix. Thank you for your support!

Chances are you have Alt+R blocked by some app as a “gaming feature” (same thing that usually blocks the Win key to prevent accidentally using it in-game)

Thank you for the response! However, this issue is not limited to me—it affects all players who use L Alt as their radio key across multiple servers. Everyone experiences the same issue:
• L Alt (Primary Radio) + Sprinting (Shift + W) blocks the reload action (R).
• If the radio bind is moved to another key (e.g., Caps Lock), sprinting, talking, and reloading work perfectly fine together.

This suggests that the problem is related to how FiveM processes input combinations, specifically with L Alt. It seems like a recent update or change has caused this conflict.

I’ve already tried clearing my cache, resetting keybindings, and testing on multiple servers, but the issue persists for everyone using L Alt.

Could this be related to an intentional change in FiveM’s input handling? Or is it a bug that needs to be addressed? Thank you for looking into this!

Did it work before in your current configuration? If so, when did you first notice it wasn’t working?

Yes, it worked perfectly before. I’ve been using L Alt as my primary radio key for years without any issues. This problem started over two weeks ago and affects everyone using L Alt as their radio key. It’s consistent across all servers I’ve tested, and no changes have been made to my personal configuration or keybinds.

It seems like this issue appeared after a recent FiveM update, as it affects all players in the same way when L Alt is used as the radio key. If I switch the radio bind to another key, everything works perfectly fine (sprinting, reloading, and using the radio simultaneously).

Could you possibly test this issue yourself by setting L Alt as the primary radio key and trying to sprint, reload, and use the radio at the same time? It should reproduce the problem easily.
