SmartCuffs - Update

There is now a config.ini included which allows you to enable AcePermissions, you can set “EnablePermissions” to true in the config.ini file.

You must then give people access to the “command.frontcuff” and “command.cuff”.

We started testing this tonight and noticed that when a player is grabbed via our warmenu, they can’t be cuffed. Typically with our cuff function that was builtin to the menu, we would grab them, and then cuff them while they are grabbed. Is there something that can be done to allow them to be cuffed while they are grabbed?

I am unsure why this external script would be conflicting with the cuff plugin, it may potentially be due to the fact the animations are conflicting.

It would be difficult to say without looking at the plugin, I am looking to introduce a tackle and drag element to this script.

We have a new tackle script that we mostly like that you hold shift and press E to tackle someone, but it doesn’t use any type of vectoring so the person can be a few feet beside or behind you and it will pop them in front and let you tackle them so if there is a way for that not to happen, that would be great if you include that in your tackle if you add it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I haven’t started thinking about the way I would code the tackle element of it yet, however when I do so I will definitely take this into account.

Essentially the way I think the other tackle scripts available work is looking for the nearest player, moving the player into position if found and then attaching the two players together and playing an animation that would represent a tackle.

The reason I believe this causes the entity (player) to be teleported is because the distance checking is too large, and this causes the script to move the player into position.

When I create the tackle element of this one, it will most likely not have this occurring and realistically I would need the players to be almost touching each other to allow the tackle function to work.

I hope to implement this feature soon.

You could add ace perms to a ziptie command which doesn’t spawn the cuffs model and has unlimited/many more uses than the cuff commands

Yea I wouldn’t mind the whole they are behind you and now in front of you being tackled issue if the range was extremely close. Currently we have tested our current tackle and can get people around 6 or 7 feet behind us

Update - 12/07/2020

This update introduces some bug fixes such as the ability to break out of handcuffs if you fall into a ragdoll state for a large amount of time.

Removed /passcuffs command, the plugin will automatically pass them back now.

Removed handcuff sound if you have no cuffs left.

I do agree with adding /drag and some sort of command to force into a vehicle.

Also, it should be possible with this script to keep cuffed players from turning the wheel while driving vehicles. I’d recommend a look into the coding of realistic_cuffs for an idea about that bit.

I thought I already mentioned this but looking back over messages, I don’t see it so I must have forgotten. We’ve noticed if you cuff someone and then place them in a car, the cuffs appear outside outside the vehicle. (have not tested on the latest version that just came out though)
