There is no new permissions.cfg in the newer version of the AOP script. I have tried putting the format into my server.cfg and the older permissions.cfg and I have had no luck.

i type in the ace to the server.cfg, i start the server but yet, none of the commands work

In your server.cfg you must put
add_ace yoda.aop.cd yoda-aop allow
add_principal identifier.steam:11000010ac19d62 yoda.aop.cd # Viggo
For Some reason the server.lua file references mgn-aop instead of yoda-aop.
If you are having problems with permissions, try this in your server.cfg instead.
add_ace yoda.aop.cd mgn-aop allow
add_principal identifier.steam:11000010ac19d62 yoda.aop.cd
