RedM Development Transparency and Community Contributions

It has now been 7 years since RedM was released. In its early days, Cfx development was very active and gave the impression of a project with a clear long-term vision. Today, however, the situation feels very different.

Over time, the community has gradually taken on a much larger role through a collective effort: submitting pull requests, fixing issues, and conducting research and development work that would normally fall under core project maintenance. Despite this, a significant number of contributions appear to remain unreviewed or unmerged.

At the same time, communication around RedM’s development remains limited and unclear, making it increasingly difficult for developers to understand the actual direction of the project. Compared to FiveM, RedM still appears to lag behind in several fundamental systems and tooling, which raises ongoing concerns within the community.

This post is not intended to create drama or hostility, but rather to seek a clear and precise response regarding the current state and direction of RedM. I also hope to express the concerns shared by a part of the community on this topic.

And of course, I am not expecting a simple “RedM is not abandoned” response, but rather more concrete, detailed, and transparent information about what is actually being worked on.

What the community is asking for is relatively simple:

  • More transparency regarding the current state and direction of RedM
  • Better visibility on what is actively being worked on
  • More consistent review and handling of community pull requests

Without this, it becomes increasingly difficult for developers to remain motivated and invested in the RedM ecosystem.

To finish, I think many of us are simply trying to understand where this is heading. Should we continue investing our time, energy, and creativity into building and fixing things for the platform, constantly trying to push it forward on our own? Or should we start reconsidering our involvement if there is no clear direction or long-term commitment visible?

This is not meant as a threat or an ultimatum, but rather an honest question from people who genuinely care about the project and want to understand where it is going.
