RedM crashing with ERR_GFX_STATE on RTX 5060 Ti (driver 581.29, Windows 11 24H2)

What is the issue you’re having?

After upgrading my GPU from an RTX 2070 to an RTX 5060 Ti (16GB), RedM consistently crashes with the RAGE error: ERR_GFX_STATE.
Red Dead Redemption 2 singleplayer runs without any issues, but RedM crashes shortly after launching or when trying to join a server.
Before the crash, the whole system often freezes for a second, then the error pops up.

What have you tried already to fix the issue?

What I have already tried:

Clean driver reinstall with DDU

Tested multiple NVIDIA driver versions (newest and older)

Forced DirectX 12 and Vulkan

Deleted RedM and RDR2 cache/settings

Disabled all overlays (Discord, GeForce Experience, Steam)

Underclocked GPU and reduced Power Limit via MSI Afterburner

Switched to Canary update channel

What server did you get this issue on?

Local, Hate RP and other servers

Error screenshot(s)

Windows version

11 Pro, 24H2

System specifications

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB

Driver version: 581.29 (tested older ones as well, same issue)

Antivirus software

Additional comments

This problem only occurs in RedM. RDR2 singleplayer works perfectly stable.

It looks like an incompatibility between RedM and the new RTX 50-series cards.

Hiiii, Check if vsync is off

i’m having the same issue. RedM was giving me issues for 4 hours last night, and when I finally fixed it, i got the same error you did. i’ve been getting this error ever since i got my new computer (rtx 5070). i’m not as tech savvy so idk how to fix overclocking without downloading an older driver. ive tried nearly everything else. vsync is off for me as well.

Encountering the same behavior on my 5070 Ti

I also observed the same behavior when launching the single player mode (F8 > Launch > SP > RDR3) – no remote server involved. Runs for a few seconds and then crashes after launching.

Same probleme for me RTX 5070 …

Same issue with the 5080.

Same thing on 5060 ti

So is there a fix for these people with 50 series cards or are they just out of luck

i’m thinking we’re just out of luck tbh

having the same issue with my 5060, was working fine before :"(

Yeah im getting the same problem too. Tried almost everything and I’m still crashing after loading in for a few seconds.

Hi guys, I’m having the same issue here, but mine is a RTX 3060.
Someone already find a solution?
