After upgrading my GPU from an RTX 2070 to an RTX 5060 Ti (16GB), RedM consistently crashes with the RAGE error: ERR_GFX_STATE.
Red Dead Redemption 2 singleplayer runs without any issues, but RedM crashes shortly after launching or when trying to join a server.
Before the crash, the whole system often freezes for a second, then the error pops up.
What have you tried already to fix the issue?
What I have already tried:
Clean driver reinstall with DDU
Tested multiple NVIDIA driver versions (newest and older)
Forced DirectX 12 and Vulkan
Deleted RedM and RDR2 cache/settings
Disabled all overlays (Discord, GeForce Experience, Steam)
Underclocked GPU and reduced Power Limit via MSI Afterburner

i’m having the same issue. RedM was giving me issues for 4 hours last night, and when I finally fixed it, i got the same error you did. i’ve been getting this error ever since i got my new computer (rtx 5070). i’m not as tech savvy so idk how to fix overclocking without downloading an older driver. ive tried nearly everything else. vsync is off for me as well.
I also observed the same behavior when launching the single player mode (F8 > Launch > SP > RDR3) – no remote server involved. Runs for a few seconds and then crashes after launching.
