RedM Crashes Immediately While Updating (0.00/177.22 MB) - Cannot Find Log File

What is the issue you’re having?

My RedM client crashes immediately after launch when it attempts to start the update process at 0.00 / 177.22 MB (See attached screenshot). The application window simply closes/disappears without any error message. FiveM works fine on my system.

What have you tried already to fix the issue?

  1. Clean Installation: Performed a full uninstall and reinstall of both Red Dead Redemption 2 and RedM.

  2. Mod Removal: Removed all RDR2 mods (LML, vfs.asi, Mod Manager) and performed a Game File Verification via Steam/Rockstar Launcher.

  3. Windows Security: Added both RedM.exe and RDR2.exe to the Allowed Apps list in Controlled Folder Access (Windows Defender).

  4. Firewall/Antivirus: Checked and temporarily disabled Antivirus/Firewall.

  5. Log File: I have been unable to locate the CitizenFX.log file in the %temp% folder, even after crashing the application and sorting by time.

What server did you get this issue on?

N/A - The crash occurs immediately upon launching the client before reaching the server selection screen.

Did you figure this out? I’m having the same issue

As @HelpImDizzy asked, I too am having this issue, have done all the steps as you have and I’ve gotten nowhere. After reinstalling, the client worked… for an hour, shut down, now even a reinstall doesn’t do anything.

I was making a post when yours popped up as -Similar- as my issue so I came here.
