REDACT
A community being built to outlive the game it starts on.
Most servers are built for the game they launch on. When the game changes, they don’t survive it.
We’re building the other way around. Redact is a community first. The server is where it lives right now. When GTA 6 arrives, we move, and everything people built with us comes along.
That’s the whole reason to be here early.
What we’re actually making
A criminal world where what you do sticks. No fresh starts when your character makes an enemy he can’t handle. If you burn a bridge in month one you’re still living with it in year two.
That only works if the people in it care about the same thing. So we’re not opening this to everyone.
Progression that takes months, not a weekend.
Most servers hand you everything in three days and then wonder why nobody logs in by week two. We’re building the opposite. A path where the early hours are genuinely the early hours, where what you specialize in closes off other doors, and where someone who’s been here since the start is recognizable as someone who’s been here since the start.
The skill system is the spine of that. Not a menu of unlocks. Choices that compound, cost you something, and can’t be undone on a whim. If you commit to a direction, that becomes who your character is.
It means the person who’s put six months in has something the person who joined last week can’t buy, grind overnight, or shortcut. That’s the point.
Where we’re at
Groundwork’s done and we’re building outward from it.
Inventory — rebuilt. Grid-based, and it changes how you actually plan a job rather than being a list you scroll.

HUD — stripped back. Nothing on screen that doesn’t need to be.

Phone — full redesign in progress. Showing it when it’s worth showing.
Content comes next, and that’s where the founding group comes in.
Right now
The server is in development. We’re not going to pretend otherwise or show you a trailer for something that doesn’t exist.
What we are doing is bringing in a small group of people to build it with us. Not testers. The people whose characters become the first names anyone in this city recognizes.
The organizations, the businesses, the territory, the history everyone else inherits gets written now, by whoever’s in the room. In six months it’ll already be someone else’s city and you’ll be arriving into it.
For content creators
If you make content, I’m not looking for someone to read out a server name at the start of a video.
I’m looking for a few people who want to be part of what this becomes. Your character carrying weight in the world. Input on where it goes. A say in the story rather than a stream key and a discount code.
That means fewer of you, and it means the ones who are here are actually here. If you’ve been the twelfth creator on someone else’s roster, you already know the difference.
For developers
Same idea.
If you’ve spent time building things for servers that folded six months later, I understand why you’d be careful about the next one. What I can tell you is that this is being built to outlive one game, and anyone helping build it is treated as part of it rather than as free labor.
If you’re good at something and you want it to still matter in two years, talk to me.
For everyone else
You don’t need to stream, code, or bring anything with you.
Most of what makes a city feel real is people who just show up. The ones running a shop nobody asked them to run, turning up to the same bar every night, knowing who’s who because they were around when it happened. That’s not a support role. That’s the thing itself.
There’s no title for it and nothing to earn. If you want to be part of building this and you’ll actually be here, that’s all of it.
What we won’t do
Nothing purchasable that affects gameplay. Ever.
We’d rather be small and serious than big and forgettable.
Founding intake is open
A limited number of places, then it closes.
Progress posted here as it happens.
