Luman Cars is a vehicle system for RedM that adds real, drivable cars to Red Dead Redemption 2 servers.
The cars run on native vehicle mechanics that already exist in the game engine but are unused in RDR2. No runtime model swapping and no invisible wagons.
Questions, feedback and suggestions for RedM vehicles are welcome in this thread.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has no cars, so a common way to add one to a RedM server is to hide a horse-drawn wagon under a car body or swap models while the game runs. It looks fine in a screenshot and falls apart on a live server.
The RDR2 engine still has vehicle mechanics the game itself never uses. Luman Cars are built on them directly: one vehicle entity on its own wheels, with its own handling, and the same car for every player.
No client patch required — nothing for your players to install.
Another RedM car release requires every player to install a client-side patch – ours doesn’t need any of that. No files in anyone’s game folder and nobody kicked for missing a mod. It just works!
Before the cars are released tomorrow, a FREE add-on for cars in RedM is already available!
It’s a speedometer that was just released. It works with any vehicle on its own, but it works best together with Luman Cars, which will be released tomorrow!
Native cars in RedM now have the dealership. The dealer car hangs from a crane at the Saint Denis docks. You can open the doors, turn on the headlights, listen for engine and pick a colour before buying.
