Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the use of models, logos, or names of real-life police forces, such as the Israeli Police or the French Police, in a FiveM server.

I’m planning to create a system in my server based on the Israeli Police, but I’ve heard that this might pose a risk, such as the server’s key being revoked due to the use of content related to real-world institutions.

Here are my questions:

  1. Does anyone know if using such content violates FiveM’s rules?
  2. Are there ways to avoid issues by making changes like modifying the name or uniforms?
  3. Has anyone faced a similar situation and can share how they handled it?

The answer is, as with most legal or close-to-legal things, “it depends”.
In this case it mainly resides on whether the name, any logos or any other assets related to said organizations are considered Intellectual Property (“IP”) or otherwise copyrighted. You will need to do your own research, as this varies greatly by jurisdiction.
