Why and what even is Project Roleplay?
Project Roleplay started out as a place for me and a few friends to mess around with and continue to learn dev work. I wasn’t sure anything would come out of it. That would change though when I realized we could actually make something here. With the addition of some really talented developers, we’ve built some really awesome features at launch and we got a lot more things planned down the road. We’re invested in stories here, in your stories. We created a place where all of you talented role players can thrive in.
What to expect on the server?
Let’s start with the economy. We aimed to create a more realistic economy which generally means you’ll be earning and spending much lower amounts than you might be used to. Think of it as a more long term goal oriented when it comes to our economy. Civilian jobs won’t pay as well as the more risky criminal activities that you can find throughout the city. It’s about risk vs reward. But don’t let that discourage all of you civilian players. Like I said before, we created a place for everyone to thrive in. We worked on a reputation and knowledge system. What that means for civilian work is that all of our civilian jobs will earn you reputation while completing them. The higher your reputation is, the more money you’ll earn. Think of it as a promotion for your work.
Continuing with talking about the reputation and knowledge system, criminals will be able to take advantage of this as well. They will be able to work on their crafting skills to craft useful and valuable items. There will also be blueprints available throughout the world that will give you an edge over others, at least until others find one as well. This knowledge system also leads into other criminal activities such as lockpicking, house robberies, hacking and much more.
Players looking to create a business are highly encouraged to do so. Whether you are a civilian looking to thrive or a criminal looking to build an enterprise, there’s room here for you to do that. If you are a criminal looking to start a business, you’ll have to play it smart and avoid getting your business shut down.
Housing and apartments are available to rent that you can completely decorate yourself or hire others to decorate it for you. The creativity is endless with well over 400+ props to use to create a living space that fits your character.
You’ll notice a lot of activities and locations are grouped together, this is to create roleplay hubs. Our aim with these is to help ensure you’ll run into other players and will be able to have more meaningful roleplay while on the server.
