Pressing a button closes the active NUI

When I press to any button on the UI it automatically closes the active NUI. How can I prevent this from happening? This behavior seems pretty weird to me. I am a complete idiot when it comes to these front end stuff. I have been a systems engineer for my whole life and never ever touched anything ever related to web development.
