Hi everybody. I want to take a break from scripting and start a project building an addon map of a city. My ambition is to integrate it seamlessly with GTA 5’s art style, both from a graphical point of view, as well as the way in which everything is modelled (terrain, buildings, props, etc). The first step is choosing a location. I was thinking about something lore-friendly, based on a real-life place in North or South America (preferably North I guess). I would like the location to be something that has not been done before and not boring, meaning it should have some recognizable/iconic landmarks, buildings, streets and/or diverse terrain and landscapes, so it’s not just flat, or full of skyscrapers, so I compiled a little list (image attached) with some starting ideas, but I’m not limited to those in the table.
Let me know what you think, and again the location is not limited to the ones on the list. Next steps would be sketching a layout, gathering reference photos, then the modeling part - greyboxing, roads, terrain, buildings, other finishing details. I have a few people that can work on it and we have done some smaller maps in the past so we’re no strangers to the workflow and 3D modelling
