Oswell City Roleplay is slow-paced, story-driven, and tries to portray realistically. This might not be like other servers you have played on because we promote more roleplay gameplay and are designed differently from rules to scripts. Some of the server scripts might not be realistic, but at least we have to act like it. We don’t try to be 100% realistic, because there are set of rules that are exempted since this is still a game.

To set your expectations, these are the things you should know about the server:

● It is not required but we recommend playing with a proper character portrayal, having a background story for your character helps you build a foundation on how you play your character on our server. Knowing the difference between In-Character and Out of Character is a must.

● The server might not be for everyone but we welcome anyone who wants to create their own story on our server.

● The server is not pay-to-win, our donator shops won’t give you an advantage over other players, if you don’t spend a single penny on our server, you will still enjoy it.

● Not everyone can craft firearms, drugs, and other materials. This creates a healthy supply and demand market and more player-to-player interactions.

● Every business is planned to become player-owned. Convenience stores, hardware stores, restaurants, bars, and even huge companies like mining, manufacturing, etc. can be purchased by you in-game.

● The server currently has one law enforcement agency (LEO) as of this moment due to a lack of players and is soon to open more departments when the time comes.

● The server currently has three official gangs.

● The server does not have a gang base because we want to create a neighborhood roleplay experience that adds immersion to the city. Gang bases are mostly used on cops n robbers type of servers, the server utilizes a housing system instead.

Oswell City Roleplay is turning down strict realistic portrayal, meaning, the server is going semi-serious RP for good. There are going to be some changes in the server, making things more fun than before.

Here are some of the features that are now available:

:pushpin: Drugs can now be sold to NPCs, we disabled this before because we want more player-to-player interaction, but since we’re going semi-serious now, we enabled it so people can do more stuff with their drugs. NPC has a random chance of alerting the police.

:pushpin: Gangs can now claim drug laboratories in order to control the drug supply in the city, other gangs can declare war on the lab holder so they can take control from them. After taking over the laboratory, the place is yours for up to 3 days before the other group can attempt to take it from you again, you have to show strength and protect what you deserve. There are rules regarding this and is now a work in progress.

:pushpin: Gang Turf, There are hidden dealers around your turf and your gang members can take advantage of it. Those dealers can be used to do drug runs to earn money. Other people who are not part of your gang can still access those hidden dealers if they know the spots, so you as a gang member can decide whatever is the right thing for you to that person.

There are more features that are going to be available after the switch to semi-serious that are not mentioned here. Invite your friends who are not a fan of super-serious servers and just want to get in-game and have fun. But let me remind everyone that this is still a roleplay server, the only thing that is gone is the realistic way of portraying things in-game.

Pet companion feature is now available on the server! You can get one at https://oswell-city-roleplay.tebex.io/category/standalone. You can also get it when purchasing a gold supporter package. The pet is not pay to win, you can’t command to attack and it won’t give you any advantage over other players, this is purely cosmetic and for roleplay purposes only. We may upgrade the pet feature someday in the future for the police K9 system, but for now, this is what we got to offer. Enjoy pet lovers!

Character’s Permanent Death

Character’s permanent death is self-explanatory. It may sound harsh but it is not, your hard-earned character’s assets will still be kept. The only thing that affects you is your character’s story and portrayal. When your character permanently dies, you cannot continue their story and must forget every connection that you had with that specific character. You are required to rename your character since there is a feature where you cannot use the character slot unless you rename it.

These are different kinds of situations that can lead you to your character’s permanent death:

:pushpin: Foe / Opponent
:pushpin: Life imprisonment
:pushpin: Lack of Fear
:pushpin: Gangs
:pushpin: Perma-Death Gang War

We made a small revamp with our player-inventory system as we introduce a new feature that gives players the ability to have a useable & wearable bag item to carry more items at one time. There are three kinds of bags available for this feature that varies different capacities and can be purchased from every clothing store. This feature improves our immersion when carrying and trading items on the server as the items stay inside the bag when you give the bag to other players.

You can only use one bag at a time, you cannot store a bag inside a bag to try and exploit infinite inventory capacity, this won’t work even if you try it.

We added a workout script, there will be benefits such as an increase in stamina and strength capacity. I tried this on our test server but I haven’t seen any difference, I am still going to deploy this so we can test this all together. We might remove this specific feature if we encounter complications along the way. Now here’s my favorite part for today’s update, we also added a boxing script , where you get auto-revived after you get knocked out by your opponent as long as you’re a participant and inside the ring. You can now have fun doing a friendly fistfight with someone without having to worry about hospital bills. This feature is useful if you want to hold an event or just simply run a training room for boxing.

The Mining Job is now available! You can apply for the job at the city services. This is the job we usually recommend to the new players of our server. This is not the usual mining job we see on every server, what makes this job interesting is that it can be owned by you. Yes, you read it right! This is the first-ever big company that can be purchased in-game. You don’t have to purchase it alone, be creative, and find partners if you have to.

The company will earn a percentage for every sale of copper rocks, the profit goes directly to the society money that can be accessed by the owner/s. Because of this setup, the more people working in this job, the more profit the company earns. Please take note that this is a long-term investment, do not expect an ROI within a week.

As a miner, you are required to wear clothing that fits the scene, this is a roleplay server, and we want to be immersive as much as possible. We have a wardrobe available on the site that consists of 3 ready-made clothing that can be used by you, feel free to edit the clothing however you like, but make sure you look like a miner and not someone ready to go shopping at the mall. The same goes with vehicles, if you want to use vehicles for work, do not use sporty or luxury cars that do not fit the scene. We recommend using off-road vehicles like pickup trucks or whatever you got in mind that fits. This is not a hard thing to do, we want to maintain quality roleplay here on our server.

The job is still open for improvements so expect some changes as time goes on.
