Official Criticism of Tebex

Title: Disregard for Consumer Rights and Appalling Treatment of a Loyal Customer

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 star)

As a long-term and loyal customer who has spent over €16,000 with Tebex (overlay.games), I recently had an extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience that exposes serious flaws in their consumer protection policies.

I purchased a digital product (from the seller AVOJ) that did not work and did not meet its described functionality. In accordance with my legal right to a refund for a faulty product, I submitted a formal request to Tebex along with clear evidence and screen recordings that unequivocally proved the product was defective.

Instead of investigating my complaint impartially and siding with the customer, their response was completely defensive of the seller. Their communication was dismissive, and they ignored the provided evidence. Rather than solving the problem, they resorted to threats, stating they would ban me from making further purchases on my account if I persisted with my justified claim.

This is exactly what happened. I was banned from purchasing, without ever receiving a refund for the non-functional product. This means I was left both without my money and without the ability to continue using their platform as a paying customer.

This conduct is utterly unacceptable and sends a chilling message to all potential buyers:

  • Sellers are allowed to market non-functional products without consequence.
  • Consumer rights are ignored, and buyer protection is an illusion on this platform.
  • Loyal customers are punished for asserting their lawful claims.

Tebex clearly prioritizes revenue from sellers over fair and just treatment of the customers who ultimately fund the platform.

Warning to other consumers: Be extremely cautious about where you spend your money. I strongly advise against making any purchases from the seller AVOJ. Based on this experience, I also recommend you avoid the Tebex platform entirely until they overhaul their policies and begin to respect basic customer rights. Your money is at significant risk here.

That is Tebex’s policy, which is based on EU law that they don’t have to offer refunds for digital goods that have been downloaded.

As to the error you’re getting, <<unknown pool>> Pool Full, Size == 400 usually refers to having too many interiors (more specifically interior portals) in the same area of the map. So the asset you bought might be functional but in combination with other maps on your server it’s causing issues.

As mentioned above, that error is usually having to do with interiors. I’ve seen it a few times over the years and it has always been either too many interior conflicts, or old interiors conflicting with game data.

Sadly, I feel you on the Tebex side though. I too had a real negative experience with them, to the point I’ve closed all of my stores, deleted them, and now waiting for them to remove my personal data from their systems. Once that’s done, I’m hanging up FiveM permanently, as let’s face it, you can’t buy anything on FiveM without Tebex, as if you do, you’re supporting someone violating the guidelines.

I’d start by removing all maps entirely and clearing cache, then seeing if the problem remains. Then slowly add maps in to try and narrow down the problem. There may be tools that can detect these issues now, but I’m not aware of any.

I am also not a fan of Tebex, this is a major issue with the platform is creators can essentially scam us but also get away with it because tebex will not refund anyone.
