Hey all
probably a stupid question this,
iv been playing GTA on PS for however long its been out, just got a new pc so need to buy GTA, obvs my progress wont transfer cross platform, but is it still worth me buying it to play on here or am I going to be at a massive disadvantage starting over ?
Also, can I play on controller ? as going to take a while to learn keyboard and mouse so be good to be able to do both while learning.

First off, I want to warmly welcome you to the FiveM community!
You may be able to transfer your progress from PS to PC, however it isn’t needed for FiveM.
You can indeed play with controller via steam, input mapper, or other ways such as DS4Windows if you have a PS4 controller, or my personal preference, DSX which you can download on steam for like $6 or something ridiculous, which is for PS5 controllers.
There can be some horrible people in this community who will roll their eyes and get annoyed at you simply for asking questions, so I want to be the first to welcome you and make you feel comfortable. (I am in no way associated with the staff here and am merely a community member like yourself).
One thing I would recommend is obviously buying GTA 5, but, buying it on steam, which, if you ever want to mod and mess around in single player, steam is definitely the best approach.
Second, I’d recommend watching some YouTube videos to get the hang of FiveM keybinds, graphic settings, and everything else.
FiveM is NOT all about RP, some servers have some pretty cool races, PVP, economies such as stealing vehicles, selling them, earning money, selling drugs, then buying an apartment, etc etc. Each server has it’s own menus, frameworks, rules and everything else. You WILL meet some rather destructive individuals, no doubt about that, but hopefully you’ll find somewhere you can feel welcomed in and can call your virtual home
