New OVH Dedicated servers!

Hey there,
I was browsing OVH Ireland, specially Game Dedicated server and Suddenly noticed 2 new plans, Game-1 and Game-2,
Game-1 running with Ryzen 5 3600X and 32gb of rams, which is better than Game-32 with Core I7-6700K, and Game-2 running with the beast Ryzen 7 3800X and 64gb of rams, which is ofc better than Game-64 with I7-7700K… So I was wondering if Ryzen processors are compatible with running a FiveM Server smoothly with daily 30-40 Players or not, as I read before that FiveM is running on I7 processors better than Xeon which was designed for servers… So does going with Ryzen 7 or even 5 is good and worth it or better keep on I7-6600K as I’m now ?
Thanks in advance.

I will always take a Intel cpu over an AMD cpu any day. But if you’re just looking to run a fivem server then your best bet is to find the fastest single thread performance cpu available as fxserver most performance impacting metric is cpu speed.

After searching I found this interesting thread…

The benchmark shows the Ryzen 5 part achieving a score of 2,979 against the Intel Core i9 9900K’s 2,899 in single-threaded operation, but losing out marginally in terms of overall performance rating - 20,209 for the Intel Core i9 against 20,134 for the Ryzen 5 3600. The Ryzen 5 3600 even beats out Intel’s 5GHz Core i9 9900K.

So now I really don’t know what should I do, I’m now running on i7-6700K…

That is more than enough for a server. If your server is optimized properly and in a windows environment, you really don’t need more than 4 cores @ 4ghz+ with 6gb of (this is including os overhead) for it to run perfectly.

Now if you plan on running VM’s and things of that nature obviously the more/faster resources you have the better off you’ll be.

Not really sure the scope of your endeavor but if it’s solely just for a fxserver, even for 128 players, 4 cores 4+ ghz, and 8gb of ram is what I’d recommend. Anything more than that isn’t really needed, but, I always advise in going overkill on specs because then you won’t have to worry about upgrading later in the event that your needs exceed the current environment.

Tbh, My server side isn’t optimized at all, Or, I can say it in another way, I don’t know how should i Optimize the server side, thats why i always go for over killing dedicated server xd, So But still couldn’t figure out which one should i take now, Intel or AMD lol
