What is the issue you’re having?
GTA V version: latest
Up to date: Yes
Legit or Pirate copy: Legit
Purchased where: Epic Games
Windows version: Windows 11 (build 26100)
Did you try to delete content_index.xml and try again? Yes
System specifications: AMD Ryzen, USB controllers: AMD USB 3.10 + ASMedia USB 3.1
Microphone: Maono DGM20 USB (class-compliant, Microsoft USB Audio driver 10.0.26100.8972)
Issue:
On servers that enforce game build 3570, the Mumble voice input never
initializes. The log shows this from startup, before connecting to any
server, and then loops every 2 seconds indefinitely:
[Mumble] Audio Input/ MumbleAudioInput::InitializeAudioDevice:
Initializing IAudioClient for capture device failed. HR = 80070057
[Mumble] Audio Input/ ThreadFunc: HandleIncomingAudio got HRESULT
8007139f. Recreating audio device.
On servers running build 3751 the exact same setup works and the log
shows “Initialized audio capture device”. I compared 14 sessions from
the same day, same machine, same mic, same fivem.cfg:
build 3751 → works (4/4 sessions with correct format)
build 3570 → fails (7/7 sessions, never once succeeded)
The push-to-talk indicator never appears in game, so transmission never
opens. Incoming voice works fine.
Already tried:
- Audio format 24-bit and 16-bit / 48000 Hz (16-bit made it fail on
3751 too, 24-bit is the only one that works there) - Exclusive mode disabled, all audio enhancements disabled
- Microphone privacy permissions verified (desktop apps allowed)
- Fresh fivem.cfg (regenerated), noise suppression off
- Reinstalled FiveM and GTA V
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the audio device driver (new endpoint GUID)
- Different USB ports, USB selective suspend disabled
- Windows audio services restarted, sfc /scannow
- The mic works perfectly in Discord and in the Windows sound test
Note: the Microsoft USB Audio class driver on this machine was updated
on 22/07/2026 (version 10.0.26100.8972), which is around when the issue
started. Possibly a format negotiation regression between the newer
class driver and the 3570 build.
CitizenFX.log attached.
What have you tried already to fix the issue?
- Audio format: tried both 24-bit and 16-bit @ 48000 Hz. 16-bit made it
fail on build 3751 as well; 24-bit is the only one that works there. - Disabled exclusive mode and all audio enhancements on the device.
- Verified microphone privacy permissions, including “let desktop apps
access your microphone”. - Deleted fivem.cfg and let it regenerate; disabled noise suppression.
- Cleared cache and server-cache folders multiple times.
- Reinstalled FiveM and GTA V.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the audio device driver (device came back
with a new endpoint GUID, issue unchanged). - Tried different USB ports, disabled USB selective suspend and USB hub
power management. - Restarted Windows Audio services and ran sfc /scannow (repaired files).
- Reset keybindings to default.
- Confirmed the mic works correctly in Discord and in the Windows sound
test, and that incoming voice in game works fine.
None of this changed the result: build 3570 always fails, build 3751
always works.
