Minimum Speed required to play on a server?

GTA V version? Latest
Up to date? Latest
Legit or Pirate copy? Legit
Steam/CD/Social Club? Steam
Windows version? Win 10

Hi and sorry if this is posted in the wrong section. Apologies in advance.

I recently moved to another place for a month or so and the connection here is garbage. Down speed is 1.7mbps and Up speed is 0.2 mbps.

I tried to join one server I have been playing on for about a year now, but I kept getting kicked for high ping whilst on the loading screen. From the looks of it bandwidth limit was exceeding, leading to ping increase (ping itself is more than fine). Said server has a 300ms limit so I was getting kicked for having around 800-900 ping.

I know this my internet’s fault (I wish I could upper it but I live in a village) however I wanted to ask; Is there a possible way to make FiveM less ‘demanding’ network wise? Is there a possible way to download server’s files prior to loading so I don’t get kicked? Anything that could help me resolve this issue?

If nothing can be done then it would make sense and call it a break I guess until I am back home.

Thanks for the help and apologies again if this is posted in the wrong sub forum.

Their is no suggested speed specifically for FiveM but her’s an article related to speed required to online gaming https://www.highspeedinternet.com/resources/how-much-speed-do-i-need-for-online-gaming
your location to the server is also a factor so if you do play on a variety of servers I would suggest sticking to ones closer to your current location.

The biggest factor of how much data is being sent to/from the server/client is completely up to the server owner and the script being ran on the server itself. If it’s sending data back and forth a lot, there isn’t much you can do besides play on another server or get better internet. With speeds like that, you’re kinda S.O.L though.
