Hello everyone i’m currently working on a little hobby project and basically it’s a Visual Scripting/Node Editor type of system like unreal engine for example
It’s still very bare bones but my foundation is almost built but before i continue i’d like to know your opinions on something like this and would you use it? it’s gonna probably be aimed at new people who are trying to get their foot into coding
Me personally i think it would be cool to have as another tool but if people don’t want/need it then i’d probably slow down my development of it and just keep it as a hobby spare time project but if there is want for this type of thing then maybe i might just full time it

Also one last thing, no, currently the project isn’t open source but it might be in the future i don’t really know what i want to do with it yet
Very good post! As suggestion, It could be filled with presets like “base scripts” for people that don’t know how to code. Even a parser from Lua code to Node view could be very cool…

Currently not at the moment but i might open source it at somepoint right now i would like to get the foundation built and probably refactor a bunch of code as right now it’s kinda a cluster fuck of stuff lol
Sigh I’m torn on this…Last time I saw a post like this, it was for the sake of marketing their tebex ideas to garner more attention for their pay-for-scripts…(aka a marketing scheme)
If this is what that is, nothing personal, but not interested - partially for nature of the lack of transparency of posts like this (the “hey guys, I’m working on this project - wonder if anyone would be interested”), but also for the idea of charging for knowledge.
HOWEVER, if this tool is meant to be open source and something for the community, then I’ll gladly put my foot in my mouth and say keep up the great work!
I’m not promoting/marketing or doing any form of schemes i was just simply showing off something that i’m working on, shared it with a few friends they liked it so thought i’d get a broader opinion
I’m not sure what i want to do with the project currently it’s just my hobby project at the moment and i want to complete it but i don’t intend to sell it or anything like that don’t worry, i understand lol.
