Go to https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey and generate a key for your server.
It’s not about your own game key but it’s about an API key from steam.
The key allow your server to request authentication for each player that connect onto it.

# Steam Web API key, if you want to use Steam authentication (https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey)
# -> replace "" with the key
set steam_webApiKey ""

You cannot create an API key without having purchased games on Steam which I believe is what the user is referring to.

but I can’t create my own Api key because I don’t have games purchased on steam, until now I have been using a friend’s Api key and it has worked for me but yesterday it started to give me that error and it won’t even let me go to my server, nor to anyone, therefore, that is what I want to know if I need my own api key so that everything returns to normal and allows me to enter, and everyone who wants it
