Good evening, I’m Sam.
I’ve been involved in the FiveM scene for a while. Generally, I prefer to keep to myself and avoid causing disagreements or problems for anyone. However, recently there have been some matters that I believe need to be clarified.
Through this post, I want to encourage known developers, mappers, and creators to share their opinions on a few topics. It would be wonderful to receive constructive feedback from FiveM admins and developers.
Errors in the Escrow System
I am a fan of the escrow system. It’s great to have a feature that protects us creators from leaks and resellers. Certainly, it’s not perfect - no system can be - but there are some issues that I believe every creator has noticed.
The system is generating numerous errors and causing problems for those who purchase escrow-protected resources, such as Error parsing script
and Failed to verify protected resource
. Frequently, these errors occur when software like Filezilla is used to upload files, which in turn corrupts binary files. However, sometimes it’s virtually impossible to identify the cause of these errors. This results in a large volume of support requests where people blame the asset and its creator. It would be beneficial to find a solution that doesn’t result in the asset’s creator receiving insults and being dragged into unnecessary (and impolite) debates.
Revocation of Tebex Assets
It’s common knowledge that the revoke
button has recently been removed from Tebex. I agree that assets should NOT be revocable without cause. But with the new Tebex policies, it appears that it’s now impossible to revoke assets from anyone, even resellers. This becomes a problem when there’s compelling evidence of individuals reselling their entire FiveM accounts, along with all their assets (or just a few), or openly stating that they need support for something they purchased from third-party resellers and was transferred to them.
Tebex’s response to reselling essentially implies that unless there is evidence of the transaction, they won’t take any action. For instance, I attached a screenshot of a person admitting that they had purchased an asset from another individual, but Tebex claimed they could not take any action as there was no proof of payment (despite the person’s self-admission).
This is one of the proofs that in my opinion was more than enough
And this was part of the answer
Recap
- It would be beneficial to have solutions for escrow errors that don’t lead to increased support requests for creators, as these are not caused by the asset itself, but by external factors.
- It would be useful to reinstate the revoke button for verified creators, with compulsory proof of inappropriate behavior.
It would be appreciated if other creators could bring up any other important matters for discussion. Let’s keep the conversation organized and respectful. We all know that FiveM admins are extremely busy, and the time you dedicate to me/us is greatly appreciated.
