I’m experiencing an issue with my display name on a FiveM server, and I hope someone can help!
I’ve set my correct nickname in my Cfx.re account, Epic Games, and Rockstar Games Launcher. When I log into FiveM, my name appears correctly on the main screen. However, whenever I join a server, the admins see a different, old nickname.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Clearing FiveM cache – I deleted all cache files except for the game folder.
Contacting server admins – They confirmed that they don’t have a way to reset my nickname on their end.
Checking Cfx.re settings – I verified that my nickname is saved correctly in my Cfx.re account.
Reinstalling FiveM – I uninstalled and reinstalled the client to ensure everything was refreshed.
Despite these steps, the old nickname persists on the server. I’ve heard that sometimes servers might cache previous nicknames based on different identifiers (like Rockstar ID or IP address), but I’m not sure how to fix this.
If anyone has encountered this issue or knows of a solution, I’d be grateful for any advice!

You can set a custom nickname in the FiveM launcher screen under the settings tab (top-right corner), that should override all other nickname options, at least on most servers
