Hi! My name is Waffle and just curious, I am a 25 year old disabled man, cannot make any money, and cannot hire devs because of this. Would you guys say then it is absolutely impossible to make my own server?
This is an interesting post to say the least. Hosting your own server is easy – with a little sysadmin knowledge. Other key points to understand could be game development, system security, firewalls, etc the list goes on. They aren’t required. The great thing about this community is it’s so well documented. If you search why does this not work, you’ll most likely get some variation of an answer online or from these forums. Atop this, there’s base frameworks which provide you an entire base to setup from.
Absolutely impossible? No.
Just try and get started with a local development server. Play around with debugging, creating simple scripts or toying with client commands. Have fun and don’t let it give you too much of a headache.

Yep! Everybody can make a FiveM server, it’s all about your dedication!
Just put in all your passion, add up 2 months and your server is up and running!
Would not recommend that if you want others to play on your server.
If you plan to host your server for other players to play, than try to find some dedicated players that are willing to pay a dollar or two to pay a hosting, like ZAP.
I can PAY for hosting, just not hiring devs
In that case i would recommend a dedicated server with Windows Server, but this can be expensive.
For cheaper but very good servers you should go to ZAP Hosting or Vibe Games
And for me as example, there are a lot of real devs available that are willing to do some work for you for just some coffee.
Like me, i like developing in my free time and ii do this for people for just some cups of coffee 
I would prefer a Linux based host 
. Of course that takes some times to learn on its own. To you Waffle, just don’t go too big at once. You can always upgrade later when players join and cap your performance.
for the love of god do not use zap smh host off a vps bro idk where all this hype around zap and other hosting companies come from. For Years servers have been hosted thrue VPS why stop now.

I will never use Linux for FiveM anymore since it gave me tons of unnecessary work :')
Just use Windows Server, it works like your own pc. No need for FTP, port forwarding or other annoying stuff
