Why not? If someone wants to pay to be at the top let them. It doesn’t matter. If you actually make a decent server that’s unique you can get to the top for free.
Open the server list then, you’ll find plenty of servers that are almost full with none or little boosts.
They already have a list for good unique servers to get pinned free of charge.
The current team didn’t implement Tebex or Upvotes, that was all the previous team before Rockstar acquired it, the previous team sold it to Rockstar with those revenue streams so it’s pretty weird to think they’re just going to willingly let one of their revenue streams go after spending millions to buy the project.
no because this just makes it unfair, and you “cant get to the top for free”, its actually incredibly hard to get on that list and i know this because i used to be apart of one of the servers that is on that list and it was basically impossible to get. fivem are never actively checking to add people to that list. ever.

Weird take when this “feature“ already exists for over 5 years and now just has been moved to Portal. Nothing changed, so how do they want to make „more“ money?
They increased the limit for Upvotes with Upvotes Pro, so… more money!

I agree with you regarding pinned featured servers. Its been the same ones for years. No real movement.

You most certainly can get to the top for free, you just admitted it by saying you used to have one on the list. And it’s not hard if you actually make something good and unique instead of another RP server. Also to get on the list you can make a post on the forums showing off your good unique server requesting to be added to it. You can also DM one of the community elements on discord to ask for it.

How are they being greedy? Everyone can play for free. I would think the people that think they’re going to get to the top of the server list if boosts were removed are entitled. Rockstar purchased Cfx for millions, which already had boosts as a feature…if you think they’re going to remove a source of revenue you’re ridiculous. Companies usually make good business decisions not terrible ones. Also I’m not sure how boosts make the platform worse, FiveM has more players than it ever had.
Because nobody has made another well-created unique server worth pinning.
There was no such limit for upvotes (“boosts”) on ZAP for years, so that doesn’t make much sense, why should Portal be limited when ZAP isn’t?
Many have tried over the years only to be ignored, so being constructive is a waste of energy, and laughing is better than crying

In all seriousness, I think people would be more okay with this change (myself included) if there were other more positive ecosystem changes along with it to balance out the “negativity” - like enhanced support, JS escrow, compliance improvements (whether that be communication or the process entirely), or server browser improvements that boost discoverability of new and exciting game modes and server types while still keeping the revenue stream from boosts.
Seeing as the Community Pulse posts were put on pause for almost a year and the only communications that have taken place publicly since the acquisition were to shill RP servers and GSPs as well as push out this “new” upvote nonsense, I’m not surprised that this hasn’t been received well at all.
If you want to milk your audience, make it worth their while first by feeding them some grass.
Edit: “new” in quotes because “Introducing” implies it’s a novel “feature”. This post is nothing more than a marketing advertisement.

That is correct. Then it went from Zap (no limit) to the portal (with limit). Now it has been raised again. In other words: more money.

Zap still offers boost and with seemingly no limit. Admittedly, i also didn’t realize this at first.
