Could you go to speedtest.net and run a speed-test BEFORE launching FiveM and then run another one AFTER FiveM is open.

Post each result here and be sure to not include any personal information such as your IP address.

Also make sure you add FiveM to your antivirus or completely disable it and try again.

This is after before launching FiveM

This is after opened

I have the same issue, if you stay for a long time on the server list looks like FiveM mess up with your DNS servers, I have 100 MB download before and after, this also happen with the game Rust, if that helps

i have an comparable issue… if im connecting to my selfhosted server (on the same client) my modem does a restart. but this only happens with fivem… other people can connect to my server…

the funny thing is, i already replaced the modem and it worked for a few weeks, then it started again… i asked in fivem discord but someone of the devs/mods or something just told me “fivem doesnt do anything with your wifi/modem”…
sadly thats none of a useful information… im stuck at the moment, cannot code and test my scripts anymore cause of this… if i connect to other servers everything is fine, even the 1:1 copy of my testserver that is running live on a root is working.
