I'd like to join FiveM but I need help!

Hello there, I’m new here. I used to play GTA V offline before but now I decided to try it online. I heard about FiveM on youtube and I liked it. I didn’t purchase GTA V yet, but I’m willing to do it. So, I have a question, can I play online and on FiveM with Rockstar Social Club platform? Or I need an additional platform like Steam? I’m asking this because I saw it’s much more cheaper with only Rockstar key than buying it on Steam(I can’t afford more then $15). So, I need a bit of an explanation, thanks in future.

Any legitimate copy of GTA V will work. Some Most servers require Steam to be open to join their server, this doesn’t matter if you have a retail copy.
