How to add items in server db without restart

Hi guys,

I’m looking for a way to add and use an item into database without restart the server.
Example: I use HeidiSQL, I try to add “pepsi” item, making it an usable item but if I try to give it to me (using /giveitem) I get “Invalid item”. So I have to restart the server.

Is there a way to “restart/reconnect” db to the server without make it crash?
