Homestead Roleplay | Text-based | Kamassa 1879 | discord.gg/homesteadrp

Homestead Roleplay aspires to be an inclusive community for both experienced players and newcomers, offering an immersive and stress-free text-based Red Dead role-play experience. Our goal is simple: to find a balance between the authentic Wild West atmosphere and a fun gaming experience.

We understand the balance between realism and enjoyment, and we strive to spare our players from unnecessary real-life-esque obligations. We won’t burden you with mandatory court cases or arbitrary paperwork that mirror real-world responsibilities. We value your time and recognize that when you log in to play, it’s a chance to relax and unwind. Our decisions are guided by the understanding that this is a game meant for enjoyment.

Our commitment to realism does not mean we aim for a strict 1-1 simulation of the 19th century Wild West. While some might expect an exact historical replica, our focus remains on creating an environment where the enjoyment of the game takes precedence. Homestead is intended to be a place where players can relax, engage in immersive roleplay, and construct their own unique Wild West story.

Homestead Roleplay is built on an open source framework and utilizes a number of fully custom scripts, developed in house by a team of talented developers, along with other open source scripts that we are building on top of. Our core principle is to avoid use of paid and encrypted scripts, due to the limited customization they provide.

Some of the features included on our server from the start are: a telegram system, a customizable newspaper system, fully customizable clothing (including the ability to change RGB colors at will), lumberjack and mining systems; a hunting system; a black market system; a farming system along with a gathering script for herbs; fully custom business and faction systems and much much more!

Homestead Roleplay will strive to release consistent updates to the server, harnessing player feedback to continuously add to and improve our offering.

CAMPS:

Players are able to create their own camps using a fully custom system that allows you to build almost anywhere on the map. You are able to craft, position and upgrade your camp and its components to your heart’s content.

BLACKMARKET:

Players are able to sell stolen goods at a fence that can be obtained through graverobbing or theft. The blackmarket system uses various tiers which allow you to sell additional items down the line.

In addition to this, players are able to sell stolen horses to a fence. A list of desired horses is updated daily, and players who are unfortunate enough to have their horse stolen, will be unable to call it for a few hours - so keep an eye out!

JOBS:

Players are able to work a variety of jobs, including mining, lumberjacking, gold panning, farming and more. As time goes on, more and more jobs will be added to the server, allowing for a wider variety of options to earn your riches!

BUSINESSES & FACTIONS:
Players are able to own their own businesses and factions, which allow you to manage your employees/members, set wages, and have access to a shared inventory.

CUSTOMIZATION:

Players are able to fully customize all colors on every clothing item - gone are the days of feeling like you’re running out of unique options and combinations; now the possibilities are endless!

Homestead Roleplay seeks to create a cooperative community, whose objective is to collaborate for the betterment of the server and its roleplay. A continuous sentiment in the formulation of the server has been ‘us and them, not us versus them’.

The idea behind this statement is that the members of the community should focus on working with one another, rather than against one another on an out-of-character level. This in turn leads to considering how you can create roleplay for one another, rather than hinder it.

Of course, what goes on in-character is another matter!

In addition to this, staff positions have been carefully handpicked, and staff are held strongly accountable for their actions. You can expect that Homestead Roleplay’s staff to act maturely and without bias - countering an all too common and unpleasant problem many of you will no doubt have encountered in the past.

It is the year 1879, and the state of Kamassa stands at a crossroads. Once a canvas painted by the resilient Lakota, the soil now bears witness to the clash of European settlers and indigenous tribes. The Kamassa River, once a symbol of unity, now silently testifies to the struggle for survival in a rapidly changing world.

In the aftermath of the Civil War, Kamassa emerges from the shadows of reconstruction, a state grappling with the echoes of secession and the uneasy truce between former Unionists and Confederates. The once harmonious landscapes, from the lush Heartlands to the misty Roanoke Ridge, now echo with the tension of Europeans encroaching on native lands and the fading spirit of the Old West.

Valentine, a vibrant livestock hub, and Annesburg, a mining center in the east, stand as testaments to the changing fortunes of Kamassa. Van Horn, perched strategically with a port opening to the Lannahechee River, becomes a haven for outlaws, thriving in the shadows of the law.

Lemoyne County, with its roots in French colonial expeditions, grapples with post-war challenges. Saint Denis, once a flourishing city, bears the scars of war and Reconstruction, a battleground of its own, where former Confederates and Union loyalists vie for control.

The state of Kamassa is ever changing. Where will your place lie within this world?
