Helicopter Rescue Winch | Synced | Working Physics | Multiple Features

Introduction

Introducing Heli Winch by BKing Development; a script that brings you a working winch/hoist for helicopters in FiveM!

Unlike some other such scripts I have seen for FiveM, this one has fully synced rope physics, can be operated while in motion, and uses the realistic props, animations, and scripting logic from Coastal Callouts to enable various modes including direct hook deployment, a coast guard rescue basket, and a stokes litter with rigging for trauma injuries or mountain rescue.

This is perfect for any sort of rescue of Coast Guard roleplay, from hoisting someone from a cargo ship miles off the shore of Los Santos, to rescuing someone stuck on the side of one of the many cliffs around the map, this script has a purpose in all different types of situations.

Usage

There are multiple commands to this resource, and a few keybinds. All of these are easily configurable using the config.lua file.
There is also a menu that includes all the commands in one place.

These are the default commands and their usages:

  • /winchmenu; opens the winch menu.

  • /winch; creates a winch in front of you.

  • /winchremove; removes the winch you are controlling.

  • /winchattach; attaches you to the nearest winch.

  • /winchattach true; attaches you to the nearest winch.

  • /winchdetach; detaches you from the winch you are attached to.

  • /winchdetach true; detaches you from the winch you are attached to, and sits you inside the helicopter, providing you are close enough.

  • /winchcontrol [serverid]; transfers control to the player with the specified server id.

  • /winchcarry; carries the closest player.

  • /winchlitter; spawns litter onto winch.

  • /winchbasket; spawns rescue basket onto winch.

  • /winchlitterpickup; puts nearest person into litter

  • Up arrow; retracts winch.

  • Down arrow; extends winch.

The easiest way for you to use this resource is with the helicopters in the Coastal Callouts FiveM Package: https://www.lcpdfr.com/downloads/gta5mods/scripts/25465-coastal-callouts/
They all have the required bone so you don’t have the fiddle with coordinates (will be explained in the installation section).

Optimisation

0.04ms on resmon with no winches spawned. 0.1ms on resmon for 1 winch spawned.

Permissions

This resource includes ACE permission support. This is done by the commands, for example:
add_ace identifier.license:abc12345678910 “command.winch” allow

There is an ACE permission for each command, you can enable these if you wish through the config.lua

Frameworks

This resource is standalone.

Support

Support is provided through the FiveM forums.

Feedback

Feedback is always appreciated, as are bug reports, through the FiveM forums.

whats the resmon like on this? any syncing issues?

Around 0.2 when you have no winches spawned, about 0.8 when you do. I appreciate it’s a little high however there’s a lot not processing to do to keep it as synced as possible without causing crashes
It is fairly well synced, check out the YouTube video to see.

.2 or .02? just double checking for the idle…

Sorry I was completely wrong with both those values.
0.04ms for no winch, around 0.1ms for one winch, are the values for me.

okay, thats a lot more reasonable lmao.

I was very concerned at .2 idle lol

Sorry lol, was half asleep when I wrote that message. I would also be concerned!

Check out the latest update!

Our latest update has added customisable keybinds for all users using the FiveM Key Mapping functionality, so your players can set whichever keybinds they want!

I am having issues with the winch script in my server. The winch works occasionally but other times the winch does not extend nor retract, it will just stay frozen in place until we select remove winch. Also the winch extends a lot slower than it retracts, is there anyway to fix that?

We have just released an update to the resource fixing this issue! You should be able to download it via keymaster.

does this work with any heli?

You can configure it to work with any helicopter!
