Future of FxDK

Is FxDK outdated and abandoned? I feel like it had a lot of potential but doesnt really get much dev love

Program has never even launched for me. Nobody really used it tbh. Too late in the games cycle for them to worry about it I would imagine.

Get used to it.

Yes it was abandoned.

It works well, though it has its quirks. For C# both auto-reloading and building scripts does not work for me, I just end up using a bat. I like that the game is within the editor. A builtin menu for basic debugging features would be nice.

The world editor looks nice, but if theyd’ve just integrated CodeWalker 1:1 it would have been 1000% more useful.

I’ve actually been building my own standalone SDK for FiveM that covers most of what FXDK does - and more. It runs without any GTA.exe dependency - no injections, no external dependencies, nothing. Designed so people can do their own asset edits without paying creators for simple changes.

Some of what’s working:

I’ve submitted a ticket and tried to get some visibility on this, but haven’t had much luck getting any response. At this point I’m just finishing the project and moving on - figured I’d at least share that alternatives exist for people who want them.

How does the work without a dependency of GTA? That seems like a recipe for a quick cease and desist from TakeTwo.

CodeWalker has been doing this for years. I just took a different approach. No GTA code involved

I assume you still need GTA then? I consider that a external dependency from your script but may be interpreting it differently. But makes me curious how this is different than Codewalker?

To clarify: CodeWalker and OpenIV require GTA5 installed on your machine. My tool doesn’t. It runs standalone on your server - you can parse and edit any GTA binary file through an in-game WebGL editor. Edit your server files live, no game installation needed, no restarts required.

Yeah, that’s going to be a pretty clear cease and desist letter if you don’t have to own GTA in order to access annd modify its files.

Advertising it here is a good way to get noticed for sure…

You clearly don’t understand. The tool only works within FiveM - so yes, you still need FiveM. The point is you don’t need GTA5 installed on the machine running the tool.

Try running CodeWalker or OpenIV on your hosting box - it won’t work. CodeWalker’s API version requires network connectivity. Mine works standalone and offline.

The whole purpose is to edit files directly in-game, saving time instead of juggling multiple external tools for simple edits. More user-friendly - just load models and everything is laid out for you.

But you clearly know it all already.

This makes no sense. You need GTA installed to run FiveM on the machine you are running FiveM on. Anyways, I’d recommend taking a look at other projects that were taken down for similar issues.

im not even gonna react to you anymore learn to read bro

Brother, have you ever take a look at pleb masters or some other external tool?

Yes, they aren’t anything like a FxDK or codewalker where you are not interacting the game files directly. They are databases of what is in the game and tools that assist in creating meta files. You can’t actually load anything from the game from those tools.

You should have claude explain to you how your mod works before posting here.

lol dude says use claude to explain are you using claude to make a argument those are just buzzing words nothing else are you so much in to using ai for logics and codes that you assume you are always right if you are a developer when you are making mods for fivem basicly wich is nothing special you think you are on a 3d programmer level with coding i claim my mods works direct with the binary files proof me wrong and mod is already on tebex you can even get it for free and proof me wrong my mod allows you to edit your model binary formats direct ingame no xml required or so ever making claims without a proof is just air just watch my videos instead of copy pasting your ai logics as a argument

Not a single punctuation in sight. An utter lack of any type of grammar or syntax to make sense of this extraordinary run on sentence.

How do you interact with binary files if you don’t have them installed? If you are modifying source files directly in a GTA install on the client, that seems like a recipe for disaster for someone who wants to stream that on a server.

And for 45 dollars, your vibe coded vaporware seems poorly written. Codewalker is free and infinitely more powerful with has actual community and support. Before arguing against AI, you sure didn’t mind it making it your terrible SixM pfp…

like you wauwww what a argument wauww.
special for you the punctations you care so much about in comments and relate that to coding lol.
